I could be mistaken, I just could have sworn I read something that they were adding some way for us to keep track of realtime progress of the Allied goal part of weekend events, and that part of it would be automatic awarding of victory packs when the goal was reached, instead of waiting a few days until it was over.

I think that was in reference to the new weekend challenges and therefore commendation packs. People may have misunderstood (as we didn't know about the new system) and speculation became assumed truth.
