Anybody here good enough to tweak the female human skeleton to have the wrists/hands in the same spot as the male?  I'm trying to get rid of "excessive boobage," and the otherwise easy fix of using the male armor model with some custom textures works like a charm -- EXCEPT for the hands being just far enough out of the position that it looks like the figure did a bad job of parrying a greatsword with her wrists.

It should be a ten minute fix.  BUT.  I'm unfortunately not quite good enough to shift the position of the hands in the gr2  to get them to line up where the male ones would....something in 3dsmax I ought to get but ain't figuring out.

Anybody out there got the skills for that one?

As always, thanks in advance.

I doubt adjusting the skeleton will fix this issue, but I will give it a shot for you.
In attempts with other creatures, changing the skeleton would not change already exported animations.

MUCH obliged. I'm not sure what else to try -- outside of remodelling every single armor model used in the PW, which is a non-starter on economic grounds. The animations/postures actually looked good as existing outside of the hand position. If you come up with a superior solution, I'm all ears.

Thanks again.

Oh hell, I just realized the boots are off position, too.  This may be more than you want to mess with, Hellfire...

What are you doing and what program are you doing it with?

 Strictly retextures at this point.

Here's an image.  As you can see, the male model is mapping to the female skeleton correctly (note the long female thighs).  But there's a break at the hands and boots.

Which, now that I think about it, makes me wonder -- might the fix not be the skeleton, but instead using the male glove and boot models?

why do you want to do this? is it to create a transgender?! in this case it's easier to just replace the head. do you want to get rid of the boob plates? you better just flatten out the polys of the female armor without messing around with the skeleton.

seems like you're putting the cart before the horse^^

Down the road with TONS of spare time? You bet, I'd remodel all the female armors. But that's a chunk of work I can't spare the time for now. This is an extreme example b/c it's sleeveless, but most armors you really can't tell whether it's a guy or gal inside them unless you're an armorer or a tailor, or else have a very good eye.

Yeah... not a skeleton issue, Hellfire.  Accessory model-mismatch.  I can handle it all on my end.  Sorry  to bother everybody -- this was a case of "should have figured it out."

I am glad you figured it out.  Sometimes it helps to talk through and issue.

Yeah. I don't care for "Boris Vallejo chicks," but this will tide us through until I have the time to set up and tweak all the appropriate models.

Thanks.

Happycrow has this really annoying quest for things to look like real arms and armour.....mad I know!

I just hope that if he ever fufills his quest he is kind enough to release it as I am sure quite a few of us would like to see it Image IPB

Hey Veek.

Yeah, I've got lots of time in harness, and this stuff bugs the crap out of me.
What I'm doing right NOW I can't release, b/c it's for the PW (and is heavily custom deep in the engine and 2da - a straight blueprint release wouldn't actually do any good), but if you're interested I'll bear that in mind for a release.

She looks like an Eastern Bloc weightlifter. Is her name Helga by any chance? Image IPB

Likely. :)

Though it's fairly difficult to believe that most of the completely bicep-and-deltless-wonders we've got now can really be taken as warriors, either. Fit for Playboy or a Victoria's Secret ad... not so much for somebody who hauls sixty pounds of armor around all day.

By the same token, we should also have some foppish dandy models for use as wizards, bards and noblemen.
