Yeah, who cares if getting to the end of the story is completely illogical as long as it has a happy ending, right?

Why would the Reapers make drones do this?

This takes place inside a Reaper mind. Welcome to the Matrix.

If the journey is as important as the destination. Then it is not too much to ask to look back at the path you have traveled and see, not only how you traveled the path, but why you traveled the branches of the path you did.

Happy ending it may be. But the reason for creating a need for a happy ending, will forever be shroaded in Catalyst.

Because life is now exactly the way the Catalyst wants it. And the Cat wants this version of life to go on. Not the lives of those who came before.

Cause to the catalyst, not having glowing eye's is weird.

It is not his experiment. It is the Protheans or whoever designed the device who reprogramed him.

"Reprogrammed" is an assumption outside the narrative.
Inside the narrative, the Levi believed Ghostie was searching for something using the cycles.

Out of curiosity, am I the only person around here who thinks the EC plays more like a fever dream than an actual what-happened? I am personally not so sure we can rely on the ending slides as proof that everything did turn out all right.

You are not alone. It's just that the assembly had seams showing and I can't tell what's a mistake from what is a well laid clue.
Example: Intermittent suit radio working in places it should not starting from the trench dash.
FemShep: "Normandy: I need immediate evac!"
.
Riley: "Did we get anyone to the beam?"
Coats: "Negative..."
Why does the suit radio work there when two scenes prior it was clear EDI couldn't drive a missile near there?
Joker was eavesdropping on all the missions prior. He can't hear Shep talking to Ghostie?

Star Child:  Only you can prevent forest fires!

Shepard: What?

Star Child: You prevent forest fires, by burning down the forest before the forest can catch fire!

Shepard:...............What?.................. Are you talking about, controlled burns?

Star Child: Now your not making any sense. You cannot control fire.

Shepard: Yes! We can! We can control fire! We've been doing it for centuries!

Star Child: Making fire's is not the same controling fire. You cannot command it.

Shepard: But we can direct it! And we can........... oh sod it. Just burn me to a crisp again already. It's only my third play through.

That's pretty much how it works, as evidenced by the end to ME3 derp doesn't mix well with losing....or more derp, but if you win in spectactular fashion, it works.

"Eh, at least I won."

Wow, if you were to explain the ending to someone who never played it (or was smart enough to realize they just had crap thrown at their face) this is a perfect way to do it.

Nothing the catalyst says matters. I'm not there to fix its problem. I'm there to fix my problem. My problem is the Reapers. I'm going to blow them to hell. And I'm going to do it fast because I promised Yvonne Strahovski that I'd come back and have lots of copulation with her.

I prefer just skipping his dialogues whenever I can and focus on Destroy. But I would like some extra dialogues with the next DLCs.

To quote the Christian Bible in a similar situation, "Get thee behind me, Satan."

I'm resigned to the fact that they aren't going to do anything more about the ending choices. I'd like to see some additional content and clarity for the last act of the game though. More fight scenes with the war assets and more ending closure. The one thing the EC did good with, especially High EMS Destroy, is how it retconned the 10,000 year dark age of Supermac. It showed that the galaxy would be all right, but more importantly that Miranda was safe. But I still think there needs to be some more acknowledgement of the choices that the players made.

That is the biggest flaw of the game in my opinion. BW didn't reward the players for their efforts. They didn't show anything, they just told us what happened, and told us to speculate. That's a copout.
