I think the only real drawback to PC Gold games is that so many players, including myself, don't have or want a mic. It seems that Gold and Platinum games would require some coordination between squad mates to be successful, as well as enjoyable.

I should add that the above is just my humble opinion, no more than that.

They don't require a mic and talking...unless you're running around ramboing, screwing up spawns, getting flanked etc.

Try playing with some people from the thread who've offered to help, and simply follow them around for a while. If they're killing things on one corridor, watch the other other for enemies etc.

I've done PUG plats with no talking with good players.

I like the challange of playing Gold, but most of the time I end up 3rd or 4th in the scoreboard. I would definitely like to improve my skill with some other skilled players.
I should add, that my gear and weapon loadout isn_t exactly what you yould call great though ^^
I am playing mostly caster classes (bit it really sucks that i don't have an acolyte pistol!)

Nice to see so many people wanting to give Gold a shot (or just to run it more often). Looks like we might not just get flooded with Gold players after all.

Easiest way, since interest seems reasonable, would be to stick a group up on here and just have players post when they'd like to play. If Gold players could pair up and organise matches, then a couple of silver players could join up and hopefully everyone could have a good few matches. I think a microphone would be optional, but ultimately not that vital. Silver players probably have plenty of experience, so it's more about just giving some exposure to Gold matches and letting people get through those earlier, tougher Gold runs.

I'm a very solid silver player and I regularly score well in Gold... when i play. would be really nice to be able to do it with reliably good team-mates though :) my I.D. is the same as my username as well.

I'd suggest pairing up with another regular Gold player for a more balanced team. Two strong players together have a much better chance of running until extraction, and people will get disheartened if no-one ever manages to extract - which, y'know, kind of defeats the whole point of this! I'd volunteer myself, but I won't be back at my PC until tomorrow (at which time, I'll sort more regular games out with everyone in this thread!)

Well, it's a right position. Though it's still possible for me to carry a game by myself. Anyway, none of requests were confirmed yet :(

Jokes aside, i never communicate in Gold, and still 95% of games are success.

This happens when men actually know what to do. If team mates keep running away from team, standing out of cover and not watching flanks - things get bad.

About this initiative. Well, I hope at least some of these newcomers are interested in becoming better, and not in credit leeching.

There's that spark of optimism we were looking for...

My friend and I (more him than me because he is a better player) have been doing this for awhile because alot of our old friends don't play any more. We are trying to find a new base of friends to play gold/platinum with. If we are short of friends playing at the time, we play gold with randoms, and if we like them, we move them up to platinum. All we care about is that people are good team players. We don't care about their score so much, what their N7 is, or what kit they play with as long as they are a good team player and have a good attitude. We don't play silver much anymore mostly gold/platinum. We have full extractions on platinum about 90% of the time after our new friends get used to platinum and we mesh as a team. We have found new and good friends this way. These new friends have become really good players and we have learned things from them as well along the way. We are still looking for new friends to have fun with because sometimes not enough friends are playing to put together a team for gold or plat. We help each other complete challenges as well.

edit:  some have mics, some don't

PC (west coast US)

Mic = yes

been playing mostly silver and bronze forever. played 3 successful and a couple failed gold pug games. But I've just been having a bit more fun in silver/bronze (especially with the challenges). Even those can turn ugly at times for me, so I definitely need to improve my damage output and survivability.

Honestly, nothing quite so formal. I'd just like to pair these guys with a couple of Gold regulars who can definitely handle themselves, to try to avoid forcing them to run the PUG gauntlet on those tougher early Gold matches. Four man team, two from each difficulty level, running a few matches together and giving them some early Gold experience with something of a safety net.

g

Few megabytes of guides, some computerized tests on them, and test-drive with teacher ofc. Those few who succeed will get certificate and tomato0610's signature as memorable gift.

I will be starting the weekend challenge this evening, around 8pm EDT. This sounds like a good initiative, and if things go really rough I will be using the TGI, which can generally see a less-than-average team thru to full extraction.

Count me in - I will bring one of my Gold/Plat buddies, and there will be two open slots for Silver step-uppers. I will post in this thread when I open a lobby.

Nice idea OP.

Add me. Origin ID tjcdodger. UK.

Still working through N7 promotion challenge and silver waves challenge. I have played gold matches and done reasonably well. Need to play more gold and be able to play gold with less tank characters.
