to every player that is afraid to move on to gold: I suck. on the demo i only played Bronze. 4 weeks after the launch i was still playing Bronze. The i went for a try on Gold. Holy crap it was fun! But i failed, hard. But i kept trying and trying and looking at the "pros" do it. i started knowing spawn locations, guns to use and builds (Jumpin Productions helped with that, he does great builds to help you think of a build yourself) and now i play gold and Silver for less than lvl10, i know my builds and stuff and i can handle myself... okaylly Any ways what i mean is : dont be afraid, just go and try a gold game, learn the stuff and when you master it, well you wont look back

Nope. They just require at least one entity with brain and some skill.

Jokes aside, i never communicate in Gold, and still 95% of games are success.

Gold doesn't need inhuman team effort, you don't even need awesome weapons like claymore x, all you need are 5 missiles for the oh **** moments (if you have them) power spammers with maxed common weapons can do great as long as they don't gimp the team by having no consumables/equipment

Would love to play more Gold games, my experiences have been mostly good with competent Silver teams who got me to try it out, or the few times the weird match-making system has put me in a Gold lobby by mistake.

Well got to have my first dive into Gold tonight. In my 3rd game which was against collectors, in a crunch moment I pulled out the Rocket Launcher to use on a Praetorian... Well a Seeker Swarm dived in front of the missile and took the hit, was kinda hilarious XD

Well, isn't this an interesting topic. 72 hours in (deduct 12 for my multiplayer time) and think I am competent enough for gold. Just switched to it around 5 game-hours ago actually. Can do gold easily for the creds, but I prefer silver for the challenges; well ok, maybe not with Collectors
In any case it's always better with a group of friends than with random people, but then again time difference between different countries can be a problem.

A friend of mine who started playing a few months after I did, and was barely coping through bronze at the beginning, has surpassed me since mid-summer in the degree of not using consumables even on gold... though I don't recommend going for it without missiles and op/med packs. 

A few people mentioned killer builds and weapons; yes it does help, but not much as you'd think. Play with the characters that you are confident with and that's it.

So yeah, just dive in guys and go for it; gold is just getting the hang of it

I gladly stand corrected, it appears this will bare some fruit after all.

Well, I don't play as much anymore so you would find yourself for a few days in origin without my name popping up and I believe my friends list is capped.
However, should I appear in your lobby (origin is also achossa) I will answer any ? the best I can and will gladly share my tactics for the characters I play.

 I'd like to volunteer my services as a Gold/Platinum trainer as well, but what I'm really interested in is helping people who want more personalized one-on-one "coaching," shall we say, rather than just jumping in a match with another experienced player I don't know plus two trainees and going from there. I've actually wanted to try this out for some time now, so for anyone reading this thread who wants to experiment with my teaching skills, go ahead and add me on Origin: MiaovenWinter (even if I'm online and not on ME3, I'm often playing other games in the interim, so just message me anyways).

What I'd do for those who are fresh to Gold is go through some basic talking points on personal in-game tactics and gameplay skills, as well as teamplay and enemy faction strategy, then answer any specific questions he/she might have, and we might just theorycraft for awhile. Then we'd get in a match and start discussing specific build strategy and playstyle development, while playing with said builds and critiquing gameplay/playstyle.

We can do this all over text chat or, if enough people are interested, I could grant access to my current TeamSpeak server where I could give lectures over VOIP.

I'd suggest pairing up with another regular Gold player for a more balanced team. Two strong players together have a much better chance of running until extraction, and people will get disheartened if no-one ever manages to extract - which, y'know, kind of defeats the whole point of this! I'd volunteer myself, but I won't be back at my PC until tomorrow (at which time, I'll sort more regular games out with everyone in this thread!)

CPVerletzer... I think we've played together quite a few times? Origin ID is GuavaMonkey? Might've been through soulriss/nefer, now that I think about it.

Anyway, full list of current players is up in the OP, and we now have a super fun-filled group, or something like that. You can find it here! (Excuse the partially intentional pun in the name...). Open group, so just join up and drop into the group forums. The idea, currently, is to simply post games up in the forums. For instance, I'll list thart I'm ready to run some Gold this evening (GMT), and so I'd need another Gold player to jump on board with me. Then, silver guys looking to start running games can jump into the topic and we'll get this show on the road.

Before I took a 3 or 4 month break I played Gold all the time, when I returned I found the spawns of boss level enemines on silver had been increased to Gold level proportions, and Gold had been increased too. Now I only play gold on rare occassions. ANd I played Platinum once by mistake, searched silver and got platinum in progress. Never again.

I'm a Silver player who is looking to get into some gold games for the Nomad banner. Pre-DLC I was able to play Silver without consumables and was able to extract on Gold most of the time, though I didn't play it often. Post DLC I play Silver with consumables and haven't dared to PUG Gold, though I'll play with friends. I'm a decent player, but would like to up my game.

I'll keep editing you all into the OP, but I can't recommend joining the group enough. It's not a big deal, but it will let you see everyone involved and we can start organising some matches. Kinda hard to do that through a single thread

I played bronze for 2 months, then silver until 2 weeks ago, followed by gold.
I thought (still think sometimes) that i wasnt ready for gold, while in fact i was ready for some weeks.
It depends ALL on your team, ive had runs outscoring them all (wich were terrible), and runs where they all outscored me. Those were the fun ones xD

Edit: Oh yeah, when im ingame, throw me an invite, im up for everything!

Hm, I've played with neither of them, but I recall some games a while ago. You were kinda proficient with the Phoenix Adept, if I remember that right?

I'm interested in this,classic silver player, comfortable with silver most of the time but occasionally struggle with a weak group, never tried to solo silver!
