DON'T CHARGE BANSHEES, PRAETORIANS, OR ATLASES!!!

I'm not agree.

You can charge against sync killer bosses, but the thing is, you have to know when you can do it.

Use a respec card and spec half-blast.

Fixed that part.:bandit:

Real men do not pick half blast. Ever.

Excuse my ignorance of vanguard, but what's nova cancelling?

You can tap melee (or perhaps another button) during a nova to cancel out of it, retaining your shields and still experiencing some invulnerability frames without actually performing a full nova.

After reading all the responses in this thread about sync killing I guess there's a slight possibility that just maybe you're right.
(read: you're right)

But I still think it's a good thing for the ****** noob vanguards who make vanguards look bad to do.

But I guess those people aren't on the forums... so I guess this thread is pointless...

EDIT
Phantoms though... I don't care what anyone says, they're the geth hunters of sync kills.

I charge Atlases and banshees often on my batarian vanguard, most of the time when someone primed them up for BE or FE. Phantoms aren't an issue for him, nor are scions. The only boss type I have problems with are the pretorians, though I think the best time when you'd be charging them is when they begin their eye lazer casting sequence(Anyone who has more experience on this field correct me if I am wrong in that.)

Well, i solo'd gold on Demo with Novaguard, I know how to deal with Phantoms, Atlases, etc.

The mistake that most people do is that they use Biotic Charge first, that can be problematic, it is much better if you use Nova first and charge instantly, after that you can headshot the phantom if you are using a decent weapon like Talon or Paladin if you use pistols, Or Raider, Graal, Wraith or even Claymore if you use shotguns.

Also if you use fire ammo, you can set 2 enemies on fire, use nova, detonate 1 explosion, and charge to the other enemy to detonate the other, this works perfectly against groups of Dragoons when they are with a Phantom.

The thing is, to be a good novaguard it's only needed a good imagination on how to deal with units.

If you're just starting out as a vanguard _and_ have little knowledge of how enemies can sync you, yeah, stay away _most_ of the time (if you don't try it sometimes you'll never learn when to charge them), if you've been a vanguard for long enough and have basic knowledge of enemy requirements to sync you, you should be fine 99% of the time.

But it's just not as manly!

In any case, the way Nova's power recharge evo stacks with itself, you can get to a low enough BC cooldown to detonate stuff just as fast as you would with a half blast spec.

Not charging Phantoms? I do often it and they rarely insta kill me. Even off host. If you time it right you can catch them just when their barriers are down and they are about to cloak. With Kroguard and Batguard I just charge and melee.
The key is staying with your teammates, the higher the difficulty, the closer. Vanguards (esp. the human) make for great detonators, Ravager killers, combat medics.

Medi-Gel immediately after you go down? This is precisely why I don't like playing with PUG Vanguards! You guys run out of MediGels in the first few waves and then we are playing a man short on the difficult waves. How about you have a little patience and we'll do what we can to get you up.

While I don't suggest taking stimulants is advisable:
Take Adrenaline and a Strength Enhancer. The Adrenaline will make your skin soft and a lovely hue of blue. Krogan also like to pick up the scent. With the Strength enhancer you'll impress Krogan with your decent grip and he'll be lying at your feet writing poems to you in no time.

Sure, from time to time a phantom will just gut-rape you completely at random, while staggered - but that's maybe 1 out of a 100 times. And the other 99 it's one less phantom in under two seconds with my batarian brawler.
Never had any problem whatsoever charging an atlas.

It's easy to charge them if you know when to charge.
Seriously i have been sync killed more with some other classes than when using my vanguards.

This guide was a good intention however, contains many questionable recommendations. So, without many subsections as "do not ___, unless ___, and then ___" it is kind of pointless.
