Unless the warden comes back i don't want to see any oldies or cameos.

All new characters and a redhead LI, I got hoodwinked in DA2 so I went to Merrill.

I want all new companions. I like interacting and learning about a character with no pre-conceived notions about them. Do game cameos if you must, but let the companions be all new characters please. How else are you going to explain that they are all level 1s again anyway?

On a more serious note, I think it would be neat to get Hawke's cousin as a rogue. I think that would be a nice way to involve Hawke without having to see him again to avoid people getting super butthurt.

I don't want to have a group of companions that feels like DA2 or DAO but with difference faces. Like no new captain generic's like Jacob was to Kaiden and to a lesser extent Zevran to Isabella.

I'd rather not have Cullen or Casandra. I understand the fascination with them less than I do people who want female Krogan and Turian LI's in Mass Effect.

But if whats his name.. Gregor? Is an option I need the option to not recruit him. Not saying I won't recruit him, I would just enjoy the option.

Apart from the fan-squee, having Cassandra and Cullen as party members makes sense. They're both heavily invested in the conflict, and they're both established characters, but not to the point you know everything about them.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if they didn't make it.

Mage #1: A Spirit Healer who is not a lily-white paragon of virtue. Battlefield surgeon type a la M*A*S*H*. Gruff, bit of an assh*** as their way of dealing with a nasty line of work. Touch of the Old West Doc thrown in for good measure. Is a functioning alcoholic.
Mage #2: An apostate Kossith female mage (left the Qun, not affiliated with the Tal-Vashoth; a loner) whose abilities are focused on offense.
Rogue #1: A foppish Orlesian minstrel-type bard as the close-combat (dual-wielding) rogue, with a carefully hidden spine of steel. Definitely a canidate for Easy Lover and best of all a departure from the standard scoundrel sort that both Origins and DA II had.
Rogue #2: Old, battle-scarred military veteran turned sellsword as the archer.
Warrior #1: An aging Grey Warden approaching the end of his life who decided to run away than go to the Deep Roads to die. Conscripted late in life and still resentful that the Wardens took him away from a more settled existence with wife, children and grandchildren.
Warrior #2: Cassandra Penteghast
Floater #1: Awakened Darkspawn
Floater #2: Thrown weaponry rogue (daggers, javelin, shuriken, slings, something other than bows/crossbows)
Floater #3: Sheploo
Just Kidding.
Actual Floater #3: Elf Werewolf (Female LI)

Such is the law of the murderknife.

Leliana cheated death. Anders did too for Awakening if he was killed in battle. In other words, it's up to the writers to make the characters come back or not.

Leliana was not slain by the murderknife.

Tallis as temporary companion before going back to Hawke or wherever

1 female warrior kossith (off tank) (LI capable)
1 new male warrior dwarf (tank)

route then return no more then 2 total and create 6 new characters. A major portion of the fun is discovering new companions and learning about them. Returning too many character spoils that fun.

I want a diverse group of companions from different races, nationalities and genders

I do not want a Qunari if they are following the Qun.

The rest i leave up to bioware cause its their game.

My thoughts -

Mage #1: Tevinter mage (someone along the lines of Feynriel)
Mage #2: Saarebas (Qunari mage) - would be interesting or a blood mage, someone like Idunna in the Blooming Rose (my Hawke let her go).
Rogue #1: Varric - because I love him!
Rogue #2: A Seeker rogue (maybe Cassandra, but not Leliana).
Warrior #1: Templar - particularly Cullen, due to his interesting back story!
Warrior #2: - Grey Warden warrior - someone raised in either the Anderfels or Orlais - I would like to see either an elf or dwarf warden though.
Floater #1: a female human Antivan rogue (someone from Zevran's past) or elven slave from Seheron who has converted to Qun as a possible rogue
Floater #2:  a male renegade Kossith (like Maraas) or female Kossith (but a Tal-Voshoth).

I do hope that some previous companions do pop up in DA3 because it is always nice to see them!

I want more than two warriors. One tank is too little and I mostly play with two warriors, one rogue and one mage. It would be nice if you could build all warriors to be "tankish", like you could with Fenris. In an ideal world we would have 3 to choose from from all 3 classes, but at least 3 warriors..

I don't want old companions returning, unless they have a new twist (like Anders/Justice). I want new companions to get to know. I wouldn't mind non-companions from older games returning as companions. I hope to see both Cassandra and Cullen as warrior companions. A Tevinter mage or a Tevinter something else would also be nice, as well as a Qunari or Tal Vashoth (no matter what race).
