I liked the change in DA2 where you aren't always geared for war, but I'd like more versatality. Even something like Shepard's casual outfit would be good. Being able to change it up a bit. And what happened to Awakening's ability to put emblems for x, y and z on your shield? Apply symbols to a chestplate or something.

Actually, what I'd really like is to have a hooded travel cloak that you can drop the instant hostilities ensue. Just shift it off your shoulders into more of a cape or something, out of the way. Something to differenciate between combat and travel. Probably wouldn't be good for seemless transitions but I'd like it.

I support being able to change your casual cloths.
That being said, I would like the option to wear armor all the time.

I've heard those sleep incredibly comfortably.

I did like that you could pick up "clothes" in DA:O and wear them for kicks. I agree, casual outfits would be fun. I would say, make them like a regular item so that the player can control when to put it on.

And the rest of the family huddles behind him saying 'Well at least he remembered to put his pants on this time.'

...why is his head and neck a different colour to his body?

But yes, more variety in casual clothes as well as wearing your armour. I disliked the fact my Warrior Hawke pranced about in a dress. :I

Definitely.
That robe in DA 2 was godawful.

I know this is a super small thing, but I really support this idea for future games. I know Hawke is full of badassery and (some of mine) may not be interested in/have time for out-of-armor activities, but for at least some of my gameplay, running around in full armor felt awkward. I really enjoyed the non-armor outfits we could pick up in DA:O and was really looking forward to expanded options of them in DAII. Especially once I saw how cool some of the DAII NPCs' outfits were!

Hawke's fantasy Hugh Hefner robe was really cool for around the house, but really didn't hit the spot for me. I never wore it outside Amell Manor.

Yeah, variety in casual wear would be nice. Also, if the game includes a cool leather jacket I insist that it doesn't magically turn into a sleazy retextured dress when I try it on a female character. Mass Effect 3 quite covered that function already, thank you.

No freaking joke. FShep would have put MShep to shame in that jacket. Similarly, FShep pulled off that dress* about as well as MShep would have (read: not even a little bit).

I think that the 'necklace' is marking his tan line.

Too true.

Though I have to give it to that dress, it kind of helped me to identify with Shepard more strongly.  She looked about as lost and awkward in that dress as I would. I imagined she'd have to put that thing on every time she lost a bet to a crewmate and do a walk of shame around Normandy.

I know just what you mean! Sometimes you can learn as much about a character by what they can't pull off as what they can.

I did the same thing with her I do at home. Go to the closet, try on that dress again, try to like it, feel like an idiot, take it off, and try to convince myself that sexy is an attitude and not a style of dress. Then put on whatever comfortable thing I always wear anyway. I could relate to that.

And considering she had half the crew vying for her attentions, it probably worked out fine.  Posted Image

My Shepard found that dress in the captain's quarters and decided it was more than she ever wanted to know about Anderson.

She wore asari dresses on the Citadel in an attempt not to be recognised. Rarely worked.

If they are going to give us the option of dressing casually they need to allow us to find more and more casual outfits through out the game. I don't want one single casual outfit that I automatically change into when i got home.

What they could do is have the 2 equipment sets like they have, then have a 3rd casual set so that you can instantly change into any time with a single button press.

I always kept the chantry robes Lelianna wore and the rags Sten wore and then if I was going to Denerim to sell all sorts of misc I would switch outfits for me and Lelianna. Just a day at the market!

+1 for this. I liked ME2/3 giving a variety of casual outfits for the player, and I think the system there worked pretty well. Maybe interacting with the wardrobe or party chest at your base camp brings up the option to change your casual clothes like the armor screen in ME.

The other option would be to provide non-combat clothes as an in-game equippable, like Skyrim or DA:O. My Dragonborn was running around with a veritable clothing store by the end of my last playthrough :)

Lol I thought I was the only person who did this! XD

My femshep tried putting it on for that date for Kaidan on the Citadel but she just looked so awkward in it she winded up going in the N7 hoodie. xp

EDIT:

Oh, right Dragon Age. Yeah the robe thing was okay I suppose but for instance when you visited the Viscount at the start of Act 2 why would Hawke be wearing armor? MOAR casual dress is needed!

I support this!

In DA2, only my mage Hawke ever like she was dressed in casual attire, but even she looked geared for war, since you couldn't remove your weapon (outside of the Hawke Estate).

I also want the ability to completely remove my weapons.

Would they also be able to let us dye our clothes? One of a very few things I liked about Fable 3 was the fact I could colour my clothes.

This would also mean Bioware wouldn't have to make a large variety, since we could personalize our wardrobe to fit our colour palate.

That hideous combination blazer-gown 'thing' that Hawke was forced to wear around the mansion in Dragon Age II always reminded me of an unwanted Christmas gift; the kind of ghastly dressing gown, bought for you by your Aunt Flo, that remains forever in the darkest corner of your wardrobe, gathering dust, save for that one panic-stricken moment when Aunt Flo pays a visit, and want to see how her gift looks on you....

I'd very-much support a casual outfit. I had a few to choose from in Origins, but in DAII, I couldn't even unequip my danged weapon when wondering around the city!

If they keep that lousy 'permenantly welded on' weapon mechanic in DAIII I'll scream and scream and scream until I am sick!
