Dagna should appear with [Bodahn] and Sandal. Their subplots easily seem to fit together.

Sandals girlfriend, it would be perfect.

I don't think that would be perfect....

She wrote a paper describing a theory of how lyrium 'vapors' relate to magic, as I recall.

Although she was a Smith, not a Miner, she's extremely well-positioned to have the relevant knowledge to explore the mystery of the red lyrium in the Primeval Thaig - and possibly the signs that magic was known and used there. She has a better understanding of lyrium than the average mage, and a better understanding of mages than the average dwarf. If there's someone who could put the pieces together on how red lyrium affects minds, magic and mages, it'd be her.

She'd probably go epically crazy as a result, though.

On the gripping hand, then we'd actually have an answer or two about red lyrium and Primeval Thaig, and we can't have that. :P

Yes. Give the man with the mind of a child a girlfriend. Would not be weird. For anyone.

Would that even be safe? I get that creepy image in my head where he has blood all over his face and "enchantment!" all over again...

Where are you Dagna!?

Sandal with gore on his face: "Enchantment!" :o

I found her very enthusiastic and endearing. Not sure if I would want her as a companion, but still an NPC. I can see how she could fit in DA3. She went to the Ferelden Circle to study, so she would end up a very knowledgeable contact.

Good ideas all around. Dagna literally has no reason not to return, she fits the plot so well.

You have my support! I adored her to bits, even if she was a minor character. If we assume that she always ends up studying magic no matter what the Warden does, what do you suppose happened with her studies for the people who annulled the Circle? Maybe she went for the Circle in Orlais instead?

I'd love to see her return, she was indeed adorable. As for her not being a companion...........Why not? Merrill had even a smaller role in DA:O, and she became a companion in DA2. All I want is at least 1 female dwarf companion in DA3. Either Sigrun or Dagna will do, both are so cute.

Why is it whenever I see this thread topic, I don't read "Let's Talk About Dagna" but instead begin hearing the song:

Let's talk about sex, baby
Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things
and the bad things that may be...

...errr... on topic,
Dagna was a really cool character. I'd like to see how she has progressed in her studies through the years.

Dagna was so adorable. It would be a rather sweet thing to see what's become of her after her studies. I'd just like to meet more Dwarves in general so i'm totally up for meeting Dagna again

Reading this thread was... An experience. But I agree, she was an interesting and unique minor character in DA:O, it'd be neat to see her return, and to see how the current events of the plot have impacted her.

Speaking of, how did you handle her quest? Did you allow her to go to the Circle? What did you do regarding her dad etc.

She doesn't have to be interested in either Bodahn or Sandal (if that were to be however I'd suggest Bodahn). Anyway, Dagna could be hanging out with them because she's doing a case study on Sandal etc. It would tie into her intellectual side and learning about magic with the Circle.

I propose a movement to make the Dagna fan thread larger than the Cullen one :wizard:

She's not a fighter (warrior or rogue), so she cannot really be a regular companion of the protagonist. Now if she's put to the castle...

Given Dagna is of the Smith caste combined with her keen intellectual ability to grasp magical concepts her teaming up with Sandal could result in some nifty crafting quests.

Not sure how she'd be a companion. She has no combat training, and I doubt she'd gain any from studying mages, magic and lyrium, since she can't use magic herself.

Dagna was a great minor character, and potentially a very interesting story. I hope we hear or see more about her before long.

Dagna was a great character, I wanted my Mage Warden to take her home with them.

I once read a great fanfiction that shipped her with Finn. I don't know why, but that pairing made complete sense to me and really should be made canon, pronto!

Italics for emphasis; quick question, is this phrase a common one within certain circles? Because as a card carrying, charter member of the Ancient and Honorable Order of Nerds, it made my day to see this phrase from Niven and Pournelle used appropriately in context. I just wondered how well known this saying was and how commonly used.

But on topic: I like Dagna and hope she can make a return but I don't want her to go crazy... (weak but the "gripping hand" reference was just too cool to pass by).

I would not favor Dagna going crazy either. Hawke was in direct contact with Red Lyrium, no problem. Varric was resistant to it. Sandal and Bodahn had no discernible changes and they were down there too.

Red Lyrium doesn't have to be Red Kryptonite to everyone in contact. It's best if it is a rare or AT LEAST seemingly random change, that way it gives leeway to it's involvement.
