She wrote a paper describing a theory of how lyrium 'vapors' relate to magic, as I recall.
Although she was a Smith, not a Miner, she's extremely well-positioned to have the relevant knowledge to explore the mystery of the red lyrium in the Primeval Thaig - and possibly the signs that magic was known and used there. She has a better understanding of lyrium than the average mage, and a better understanding of mages than the average dwarf. If there's someone who could put the pieces together on how red lyrium affects minds, magic and mages, it'd be her.
She'd probably go epically crazy as a result, though.
On the gripping hand, then we'd actually have an answer or two about red lyrium and Primeval Thaig, and we can't have that.
