Please. PLEASE stop paraphrasing dialogue, or give us another option.

Look. I don't mind if DA3 has a voiced protagonist. I don't mind if we have to use the dialogue wheel again. I don't mind if we are gimped in terms of dialogue options(Well I do sort of mind this, but I'm used to it at this point.).

But PLEASE stop paraphrasing dialogue. I am so sick of clicking an option yet it sounding nothing like was originally hinted at. I want to disagree with someone; not scream at the top of my lungs, and cannibalize them in front of their children.

Better yet, just give us the option to read what our character is about to say fully. Like if we hold the mouse over a option long enough just let the dialogue appear on screen or something.

This is something that has been driving me bat**** up the belfry since ME1, ME2,  ME3, DA2, and SWTOR.

Please Bioware.. Stop the madness.

I always like to whip out my Thought Process Idea in cases like these, but I'm tired of spamming it.

I'm skimming through this thread, so forgive me if I'm wrong. But doesn't Deus Ex: Human Revolution implement the exact solution Imperator is suggesting?

Human Revolution frequently does not display the entire line.  Sometimes whole sentences of what Jensen is going to say is omitted, as well as other alterations that I assume occur due to space limitations.

Right, but very frequently, the "paraphrase" text shows up exactly in the spoken dialogue.....

Sorry, I'm not getting dragged back into this discussion at this time.

I was just pointing out that people misrepresent what Human Revolution does because I see it put forward that way all the time.

Happens in real life too more than often enough.

I joke most of the time and people get offended most of the time.

Although on these very forums, I had someone get defensive because they thought what I was writing was snarky.  It wasn't, but that's the price you pay when you just use words to communicate.

2) Yes, if a game gives me the option to do something stupid and I do something stupid, I'd like to be punished for it. Actions should have consequences and not all consequences have to be nice ones.

Take your example of Cullen leading a mage Hawke to the Gallows. I see no problem with that. There's an autosave whenever you enter a new area, so the player will probably only lose a few minutes of time. Moreover, it means that not only are you getting class based content (presumably only mages get that line) but the game is reinforcing the lore of the world.

I'm a big fan of this too. I think we should be more open to it.

And, once again, we get the same people arguing the same points about dialogue that they've done in the last X times this thread has come up. Please desist. We are using paraphrases and voiced PC. If that does not appeal to you whatsoever, please move on. If you're just looking for them to be used in a better fashion, please wait until there's more to discuss-- such as when we start talking about this.

Otherwise, if you wish to discuss the DA2 or ME systems specifically, go to those forums. Thanks.
