So I downloaded updated my driver for my graphics card and downloaded the Physx driver.  Now, everytime I play DAO the game shuts down after about 3-5 minutes of playing.  I don't know if this is because of the drivers or something else, but I would like some help.

I haven't had this problem with DAO, but did experience something like it awhile back with another game after new installing updated drivers. If you haven't, do a complete "fresh" install of drivers. You may have to do some poking around on the appropriate driver site but typically they post a "removal" tool which will completely remove the driver. Once that is done, try installing the updated driver again. Occasionally, things don't get updated correctly when you install a new driver over a previous version....

np. Looking at Nvidia's page - it may take some rooting through their website - I could have sworn I pulled it it from there, but it was awhile ago. I may have used a third party app in this case. I did find a posting in the Nvid Forums on cleaning up drivers (I can't speak to validity of the apps suggested - as always proceed with caution on the recommended "free app")

Good luck!

Driver Sweeper is the best tool for cleaning old driver installations out. You can download it for free from www.guru3d.com.

Make sure when installing, that you turn off your internet security and all open programs. I think when I installed I also disconnected from the internet until it was installed, then rebooted pc.

Well, I believe I have it fixed, but these are still great things just in case I didn't get it fixed.

Edit: Yeah still not fixed trying the Driver Sweeper and shutting down all my programs.

i had the same problem as you for days, and i just found a fix for it. After much hard headedness, i finally decided to use speedfan to check the temperature of my videocard and hard drives, and sure enough that was the problem. depending on how many fans you have, you should try running the main fan at 100%, and the rest of them around 65%. i did this, and soon enough i was able to play dragon age for an hour straight; something i had yet to accomplish til now. hope this works for you

This is not a PSU or GPU problem directly. After it started on my machine I assumed that it was the GPU, which was running hot. I substantialy upgraded my GPU and PSU (to be on the safe side). The problem persists. Several people have shrugged and told me that DA:O kills GPUs and just not to play it till Bioware and ATi resolve this. The only thing I can be sure of after the upgrades, is that it's a problem with the software, not my kit.

Anyone who seriously considers the phrase "DA: O kills GPUs" as being possible needs to sell all his / her PCs and just play games on console systems.  Hardware must take care of itself.  Software doesn't "kill" anything.
