I think they should do a War Asset thing like they did in Mass Effect 3 if you have to go to war against the Templars and mages.

My advise? Run. Before they tear you to shreds.

I think I read something in Bioware's secret files that mentioned building an army.

Could happen I guess.

The problem is that you are not trying to win a war, you're trying to end it. A neutral party in the war, as far as I understand it.
However, something similar would be useful. We run an entire organization this time, and unlike Origins, we don't just have the remnants of it. I read something about information gathering, etc. So managing resources would be an interesting addition, but I'd like something more hands-on than ME3.
Disclaimer: All assumptions made over the course of this post are accurate to the best of my knowledge. They should by no means be accepted as irrefutable fact. If I have made any mistaken assumptions I would appreciate any corrections.

Can you please send a link if you can find it?

To go one step further, I think the ending should have multicolored magical explosions that force everyone to merge with the darkspawn, become an archdemon and control the darkspawn, or kill the darkspawn forever and also kill all dwarves.

Sorry, tried digging it up. All I found was a few links to rumors of castle control.
Here's one. It's not much.

I actually think the info-gathering came from that leaked questionnaire, so it might be bad info.
EDIT: Yeah. Questionnaire. Interpret that as you will.

I'm actually growing a little weary of the "gather an army" motif that BioWare occasionally employs. ME3 and DA:O each used a similar formula in this regard, and I found stepping away from that in DA2 was refreshing. I'm not necessarily advocating for a similar structure to DA2 again, but I don't know if they need to do the gather an army scenario again either.
