Wait ! I don't understand one thing.

In this half of movie, Liara mentioned, that she talk with Sovereign. So in ME1, canonical is Liara in this chamber in Virmire ?

Either that or Shepard takes more than two squadmates with him, and the two person limit is a game mechanic.

I fail to see what the big deal is here, This cartoon has has no more disregard for ME1's story and background than ME2 and 3 did and it has female combatants in actual combat gear instead of silly comic book outfits.

What's even more funny is in ME3 not only is the wreckage of Soverign mentioned many times like in ME2, we also see one of his legs that where blown off in Leviathan dlc. Now this crap comes along and contradicts all three games+ a dlc. Does Bioware even care anymore?

I can't wait to see how certain people are going to defend this.

The question to ask is how much input did BW have into this thing? If this movie is like the comics, then the answer is probably not much. The comics may read Mac Walters on the front cover, but what goes into the panel is dependent on Dark Horse and the artists.  It’s the same w/ the movie. Imagine you’re completely new to the ME universe and Liara starts talking about Sovereign. If you see a bunch of Reaper parts, you may not know what it is. But if you see an intact Reaper, an iconic silhouette of one, then you get a clearer picture of what it is while still leaving a bit of mystery to the whole thing.  Why is the Citadel near a planet? To give it scale. Did the animators know it wasn’t near a planet?  I don’t know. Odds are they didn’t, but if you want to show the scale of something in a spacescape, what do you do? Stick it in front of a planet. It gives the thing scale and you’re guaranteed good composition to boot. Why is Liara in this? To connect property A: Paragon Lost to property B: Mass Effect 3. It’s a fanservice cameo that gives a bit of background info on the Reaper story. In hindsight they probably should have used a totally new character for that scene, but gimmicks typically take precedent over logic.

Again, the question to ask is how much input did BW have into this thing? Probably not much and w/ that in mind I wouldn’t take anything in this movie as canon except for what we already know in the game.

Hmm

Deception
ME3
Paragon lost

Notice any similarities yet?

Nope I don't, because I enjoyed ME3. Until Earth.

If I remember correctly from a review, it pretty much ****s all over ME2 and makes it completely stupid.

That's what happens when you make a suicide mission and introduce too many new characters(and put majoirty of the old characters on the backseat) in the MIDDLE chapter.

If you want to know...

The guys in the review said that onboard the Collector ship. Vega and the asari scientist found (and I **** you not) a working prothean beacon which contained the secret of the Reapers. Meaning the entire "Ah yes, Reapers." thing is now completely undermined. The reviewers also said something which strongly implied that the story took place before Horizon. Meaning that the VS was sent off to a mission to find out who was abducting the colonies, despite the fact that the Alliance already knew who was abducting the colonies.

Granted. The reviewers could have misspoken or simply have misunderstood, or I could completely misheard them. I guess we will only know once someone gets to see the actual movie.

Oh my g.... now that is downright retarded. I wasn't exactly referring to that review. I was merely judging paragon lost by the OP of this thread. Deception had no regard for lore and made the most ridiculous mistakes, ME3 did the exact same thing and now they're doing it AGAIN with paragon lost.

ETA: You think Bioware is doing this on purpose? I don't think people can fail this hard without actively trying to...

That's dumb. If they want to show what a Reaper is, show a flashback of the battle of the Citadel and and the final blow from the Normandy blowing it up, and then change the flashback to a scene to debris of its carcass being collected. There, it shows what a Reaper is, showed an awesome space battle, and flowed with the scene, all in one go without any continuity errors.

Maybe the japanese animators missed the notes.

What notes? You know that Casey himself (proof-) read Deception?

 Bioware delay this cartoon, releasing it in this condition will just create another massive backslash like Deception.

Yep. I am 8 minutes in and the part with the Prothean beacon is true! Congratulations Bioware, you just ruined killed the basic premise for ME2! :wizard:

Link for anyone interested.

"RE-EDIT"

Oh well... They just said that the Asari had the data aswell, which Vega saves... So I guess they did kill ME2!

.......why.......why do they do this to themselves.......

If you listen to Vega in ME3, and listen to the interview with the producers of PL, you'd know this.

1. Paragon Lost happens before Vega finds out that Shepard is alive, not right after ME1. Footage showing Sovereign's cleanup could have been old, or there could have been a timeskip. Since PL isn't released yet, you cant be sure.

2.  Vega chose to save the data, not knowing that Shepard was taking down the Collector's himself. Meaning in some part of his mind, he blames Shepard for his poor judgment.
