Planescape Torment....ahh the days when Bioware made games for gamer nerds and not Need for Speed/CoD kids.

No.

And they've said as much multiple times.

Maybe they just don't want to admit it? :)

Why would they admit to something that would make ME1 and ME2 lesser? Oh, and to something that doesn't exist?

Strongly disagree about "lesser", and really doubt about "something that doesn't exist" :)

I hope you are aware Bioware didn't make that game.

Is this the "Mass Effect 3's ending was predicted by Planescape Torment" theory thread?

At least another one ho knows PS:T. The voice is Deionarra, I guess.

edit: saw your post now.

But back on topic:

I doubt that. There are too many contradictions within the series, too many discontinuities storywise to assume that they had everything planned out since the 1st game.

This.... what?

Sha'ira's 'prophecy isn't even... in the... video. Those.... aren't her words...

There's not context or supportive reasoning, sh*t, there's not even a f*cking argument here. Do her words indicate it was a plan from a beginning? I dunno, and there's no attempt to even ask a logical or thought provoking question or make a point.

classic Seival.

They didn't have the ending in mind until after ME2 released.

Seival must be some kind of nihilistic super space oracle with the number of f*cking theories and predictions he pumps out.

So funny that Jennifer hale also voices Deionarra from Planescape Torment used here.

That said this vid is a blight on a truly great game with a great story.

I think Shepards death was planned from the beginning, but the form of the death wasn't decided till production of third game

Also, the war with the reapers was pretty obviously planned from the 1st game. Maybe not the crucible and the catalyst, but the main theme and conclusion of the 3rd game, yeah.

I think that it's also obvious that impossibility of conventional victory was definitely planned from the beginning. ME1 ending set that concept in stone... So, I believe they had thoughts about something like Crucible and Catalyst even during ME1 development.

It's highly doubtfull since the main lead writer left after ME2 and his idea was dark energy till the end.
Or are you planning to erase Drew Karpyshyn from ME so that your theories can fit the game?

Lead writer is not the one who invents the entire story. Lead writer is mostly manager, who coordinates writers team work. Game story concept and final story variant is product of cooperative work of the whole writers team. All Mass Effect trilogy's major turn of events could be ideas of anyone in that writers team... Some writer had an idea, team discussed it, everyone liked it - the idea was implemented.

Crucible, definitely.  I'm not surprised, though I did think they could come up with something more interesting than "giant freaking laser of varying colors."
