Gameplayed fine up until the point where I had finished talking to fergus and then I left the room and up came the loading screen, I've now sat at that screen for no less than 3 to 4 minutes without it loading the next scene, area, wherever it was going to take me.

Anybody else experiencing this problem or excessively long load screens?

I had a very similar problem with the stone prisoner download. In the town I tried entering another area (someone's basement) and it freezes on a loading screen. It's not even the normal loading screen it just has a little loading sign in the bottom right hand corner that flashes every now and then. I left it for half an hour and it still won't load meaning I can't actually do this piece of dlc!

I've got exactly the same problem crop up after completing the starting quests for the Mage, which end up with your character going off with the Grey Warden Duncan. A few cutscene conversations later, Duncan tells you to explore the camp at which point I'm dumped into a never ending load screen. I'm fully patched and have all the available DLC with a character generated by the downloadable generator. Before someone says the obvious, simply reloading my game and playing through that section again just doesn't help at all.

::EDIT:: I typed too soon. After I waited an abnormally long amount of time for the loading screen to finish I took matters into my own hands and manually closed down the program. I noticed that my autosave had been updated even if the screen had never finished loading. Everything is just peachy now.

what? on the day 5/5 2012 I found the exactly same issue on my steam verson DA:O ultimate ed. I can only play 0.1% of the content then locked up staring at the loading screen forever.
