VO working in Toolset - but not in game?

So I've modified some conversations, with the aim of reusing the original VO. I've extracted some of Alistair's VO from his FSB file, made sure it's in the right format and loaded that into the toolset with appropriate naming conventions - and the previews work fine in the toolset. The lips sync, the sound plays and he animates.

But in game, the lips sync, he animates and I get no sound...

Am I doing something wrong?

Remove the VO from where you put it and generate VO again and see if the robot brad voice plays in-game. If it does then something is wrong with the format of the wav files or some form of error which you should check the log. You can use my video tutorial: v2 part 5 to help you out and use it as a reference.

Thank you so much! Problem fixed - basically I wasn't regenerating the voicepack. That'll teach me.

Next silly question. If I wanted to bundle this up and share it for testing what would I need? I have a script file, the two dialogue files, but to get the voice would I need to export something different? Or would just the Fxe and fsm files suffice?

You would also need to distribute the voice files (.fev and .fsb). They are created when you "Generate VO" in the toolset.

The .fxe and .fsm files are the face animations, but don't contain the sound data. See here for how to avoid repackaging the entire original .fsb with your new/modified .wavs.
