Hi

I started playing this game recently and so far I'm loving it, however I'm having some problems with my characters.

Its a dwarf commoner sword and shield warrior.

I picked it kinda randomly, but the problem is that I think that I kind of messed up the skills and I dont really want to be a tank, however I like being a warrior dwarf.

So should I start over (or is there a mod for that? i found "respec" but im not sure if thats the right thing) and pick 2h?
And then what would be some build suggestions? I really like Alistair (which sucks since I'm also a sword ans shield person), Morrigan and Leliana or w/e her name was (though sometimes I like Wynne too).

Thanks and sorry if that was kinda messy

Sadly this game isn't terribly forgiving if you don't know what you're doing with the skill selection. My first time round I was a total RPG noob and kinda put points into everything. I wasn't even halfway through the game before it was totally unplayable. The game's difficulty curve will only get steeper, and if you're not levelling up efficiently then it'll only get harder. And I've heard others say the same. So in short, I'd say yes you probably should start over.

Not sure if there is a mod, but if you found one called 'respec', that sounds right. It's exactly what you want to do with your character. And 2h sounds like a good call too. With Alistair tanking, Morrigan/Wynne/Lelianna on support, a nice 2h wreckingball would work well in that party. Just get yourself some nice gear, pump strength up through the roof and you'll be golden.

There has been a mod almost since day one where you can respec by talking to... a raven I think. Something like that.

Build suggestions? 2h is the most fun if you ask me. Whether it's the most powerful is not really clear to me and it doesn't matter, once you get to level 10 or so, you start steamrolling everything. It does seem a bit slow at first though, so give it some time and use Haste if you have it.

Check out this website dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/14

This is where I got the mod to respec my characters. It has not messed up on me and I like it because if I get bored all I have to do is drink the potion the raven gives you and I can repick my skills.
