I seem to be able to log in at the beginning screen, but during the game i keep getting these "cant connect to servers" or "timed out in downloading profile". It worked fine the first time I played, but since then im 0-3. Anyone else having issues?????

Same here. First run through the game was fine. Second run it worked until I hit level 14. Now level 23 and still not able to update.

OK. i just wanted to check. I got to the premium download quest, didnt have enough points, and didnt know if that was a lack of connection deal or the lack of spending more money to play parts of the game (is that really true? I have to pay MORE to play parts of the game???)

By the premium download quest, I assume you mean Warden's Keep (called Soldier's Peak in the game). Yes, you must purchase it. That's the first piece of for-pay DLC for Dragon Age.
