Honestly though, Bioware have been lying about so much stuff the past year. Why people still believe them at this point, is beyond me.

For two reasons in this case: One being that the person who elaborated on the direction of ME4 wasn't part of the Biowarian trinity of bullsh*t (aka Hudson, Gamble and Walters) but someone who isn't even close to the original ME team and the second being that they don't gain anything from it in this case.
The crap they lied about regarding ME3 was either an attempt to push sales or to cover up any signs of mistakes.

As of now I don't have any reason to believe that the Montreal producer has any motive to lie to us about anything ME4 related.

If IT and an expansion, then your "Biowarian trinity of bullsh*t" doesn't exist.

Also, the Montreal producer called Shepard "Captain Shepard". Totally credible.

Maybe his mother's side of the family is quarian?

Great examples, The point of this thread is to provoke wishful thinking not to say oMg IT is real.. Nobody's telling anybody to believe anything, but you can't just knock very good clues to the side just because you believe something totally different to be true. The object is to take in all the clues and information that you've learned and come to you own conclusion, but always keep a open mine.
You could apply this to any situation in life!!

Yes, I am.

I've been playing the game several times, I've spent months researching IT, and in addition to the mountain of clues IT has turned up, we started finding a lot of clues in the dialogue.

For me, the whole thing is completely convincing, so I'm calling it.

I'm not saying it should be convincing for anybody else.

Just trying to provoke some thought. Since most people don't feel like getting into all the details of IT, I thought I'd start a topic about what is in the dialogue, see what people think.

I mean how can you not see the tongue-in-cheek references in this stuff!

Joker: What if this--like, everything you're seeing now--is a simulation?
EDI: Shepard, I can confirm that this is the real world.
Joker: Oh, okay, well that'll solve that. Man, good thing we have an unshackled AI around to tell us what reality is.
EDI: Perhaps I missed some salient information.

EDI: You just introduced me as your personal assistance mech.
Joker: Yeah, well, it was the only way to get you inside.
EDI: But you know I am not one. Why deceive others?
Joker: You don't really want to introduce yourself as an AI with Reaper-based code. They would... lynch you.
EDI: That would be an inefficient way to render me nonfunctional.

Joker: Meanwhile, everybody's ignoring the unshackled AI walking around the Presidium.

Shepard: You have a copy of a Shepard VI?
Sales Clerk: Oh yeah, the one based on that war hero? We locked it after some kid spilled soda over the hardware. I'll unlock it, but we've only got the demo version working.

This one is especially hilarious, because the Shepard VI (control ending, hint hint) does not believe the Reapers can be defeated: "There's nothing we can't defeat if we all work together. Except the Reapers. Ever seen the size of one of those things? " and the next thing it says is: "I can predict what the real Commander Shepard would say with 7% accuracy."

I mean, how can you read all that and not spot the obvious references? It's hilarious!

Exactly!

Just trying to provoke some thoughts about the dialogue. There hasn't really been a topic specifically for this sort of thing.

DD this is my favorite quote that Shepard tells EDI.

Shepard: Are you saying submission is preferable to extinction?

EDI:My primary function is to preserve and defend the....no.

I find it laughable how often "what BioWare said" is used to shoot down any attempt to look at IT in any form, when BioWare also said that EC woulodn't include a new ending. So either they are admitting that refusal is just a complicated game over screen, or BioWare is fine with outirght lying to us. In either case, BioWare's reliability about future content is worthless. Let the OP think whatever he wants for now.

Of course, making a prediction about future content means that this isn't only a matter of interpretation. Someone's going to be just plain wrong about that future content, since either it will happen or it will not.

So either you're wrong to be convinced, or I'm wrong not to be. (Plus a small chance that Bio really does intend to go this route now but poor sales of Omega, or some other outside factor, will cause them to pull the plug.)

I mean, how can you read all that and not spot the obvious references? It's hilarious!

That much we agree on. This is hilarious.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is that I don't expect anyone to be completely convinced just by these quotes.

I am not basing my conclusion on this alone. This is just in addition to all the clues IT has turned up (well, most of the clues, I don't consider all of it clues, but a fair amount of it).

If you don't even consider IT, well then obviously this is not going to convince you either.

Still, I think there's a lot of interesting stuff in these quotes and I'm curious to see what people think of it.

You know what line got me, that just made me say wait hold up!!
Ashely: How do we fight somthing that can worm its way into your head?
Shepard: I don't know, but we don't have a choice(Then camera slowly zooms in).
Notice how the camera zooms in only in serious situations or when their trying to give a clue..
Example: Aria and Omega, Shepard clinching his left side after the Tim and Anderson conversation ect..

Here's another great example in the Omega DLC:

Aria: Walk around with you for a few hours and I go all soft. You're like a disease. You sound like someone trying to sell something. I admire your tenacity.

That's just an obvious reference to the "catalyst" trying to sell you something, and Shepard going all soft after having a chat with him. (No longer wanting to destroy the Reapers)

And then there's this:

"Nyreen's code of ethics won't let her sit by if civilians are exposed. It's what makes her utterly predictable and easy to manipulate."

This is exactly what the Reaper AI does. He tells you that your friends will die if you choose destroy. It's manipulation of the human weakness of wanting to save everyone.

It is believable bc bioware loves to put little references and clues in games, but seems like a stretch. It is accurate to what u are saying but still seems like a stretch. You can make many connections loosely like that.

Still tho hope u are right lol.

It is far fetched. Most of your quotes dont have any hidden meaing. Some still are looking somewhat aluding to the ending and IT.
But your whole point isnt anything new, it is just IT with more doubtfull clues to support it.

I have long ago said that IT references are without any dobut a fact, and are a plenty within the game and the Ending Sequence especially.
The only question is are they eventually leaing us somewhere, are they just remnants of some long revriten story development abandoned becouse of unnown reasons ( $ , EA etc), or maybe they were there from the start as asome kind of elaborate joke, a prank on the comunity.

Since the anouncement of ME3 I belived that this Trylogy is far to great to just end in the casual way - the way it did, and it would be only befiting this great game if BIOWARE pulled a "player indoctrination" thing in ME3. Giving ppl illusion that the endings were real just to blow their mind away with supprising turn with the Indoctrination Theory happening to be true, giving a truly spectacular End to ME Trylogy.

At first I belived they will release a True Ending Patch soon like month of 2 after the Premiere. Then I thought should they release the True Ending before some minor story DLCs like Leviathan and Omega, playing them would feel a lot less compelling than playing them before getting the real Ending.
I say if they are going to follow through with this plan - ME3 Lunch Aniversary is the last good oportunity to do it. Having Finished all smaller DLCs adn Multiplayer Campain It would be perfect time to finish it in style.

Alternatively They can pursue IT in foreshadowed sequel aka ME4, as I think if IT turns out to be true it will be difficult to fit all the required gameplay and cutscenes in single DLC. Nothing short to full stand alone Expancion will do it any good. I expect at least soem 8 more hours of Gameplay to it, not to mention a lots of diffrent Epilogues for choices you made througout the series.

After all how dull can ME4 be if they will hold current endings in power, how lame the sequel would be without the true centerpiece of this series - Commander Shepard.

Cheers to anyone who read it this far (sorry if some parts are badly put tigheter and make little sense, its late and I dont have many oportunities to practice my English)

While I applaud the effort put into this, unfortunately I think all the quotes you have are very disjointed - they could mean anything and I (sorry) think there's some heavy confirmation bias involved.

@ Angmir: I agree, it would make sense if they saved the best for last. We'll see!

@ JShepppp: It's okay, I understand it looks to be far-fetched and a lot of confirmation bias. We'll see how right or wrong I was, eventually.
