Quoted for simplicity sake. This was a question I sent to CS, but they couldn't handle it as it's not technically a glitch, so much as a content error. Thoughts? Solutions?

While playing though the Orzammar quest to pick a king, I opted to go the route of playing both sides. Unfortunately, this has left me deadlocked with the game, and nowhere further to go. Both sides will not talk further until I bring them relevant information on the other, and yet the quests remain active, with no clear route for completion.
Two characters currently have the icon above their heads denoting a quest option, but when talked to, they give generic responses, or simply repeat what they've said before, not actually updating the quests.
Having looked around, this seems to be a common issue, and one I've not found a resolution for. I'm hoping this is therefore a known issue with pending patch, or has an unexplored solution I may have overlooked.
Thanks,
Ryan

So far, I've come up with no answer, and CS won't help. Short of ranting incessantly on my continuing dislike of EA, I'm hoping someone else may have had this issue resolved, or found a resolution for it. Failing that, perhaps word on a pending patch.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've seen responses on other forums for this issue, that took the route of belittling the OP for opting to play both sides, in leau of simply picking one or the other. I'm hoping that kind of ingnorance isn't present here.

Don't know if this is a spoiler or not but you need to obtain a crown.

So I've heard. But to the best of my knowledge, in order to get the crown, I have to get into the locked door in Dust Town, which from my understanding can only be opened after you go into the deserted hovel next to it, and fight a non existent encounter there.

Please spoil away though with more details. I'm still holding out hope that there is one avenue I've not checked. :)

In Dust Town you need to talk to the beggers at the fire place near the suspicious locked door. She is sitting of the ground. The other is at the end near the Slum door. She will answer a carta question. Once the the fire girl tells you about the token go back to the Slum door.

Yeah, I've talked to them far to many times. They don't have any quest furthering options. I've written it off as a lost cause now. Fortunately I had a save 10 hours prior to the screw up that I can go back to.
