Hi everyone. I thought to drop a line here and announce that our group, the "Rhynn Lanthorn Brigade", will start to work in a new standalone module called "Visions of Elvhenan". As many of you have already guessed from the title, this module will tell the tale of the elves and their fight to shape their own destiny in a world ruled by the humans.

We were planning to start working on it as soon as we had access to the toolset, but mainly because of some personal events, I wasn't able to work in this project until now. Our goal is to make a game that will follow the path of Baldur's Gate, free exploration, lively towns, interesting companions and more importantly, an epic story. How successful we'll be is something time will tell, but this is the way we'll try to do things.

We are a group of people that above all love good storytelling and take role-playing very seriously. We are definitely going to need more people to work with us in various positions, more to come as needs arise. I'll post here or in our blog more info about this project when we have something to show and introduce the other group members that will work on it. Wish us good luck :)

Hi again. Unfortunately this project didn't went as planned, and apart from the story not much are done. But the elves hunt my dreams and their tale is destined to be told. I am going to restart working in this tale somewhere in the beginning of the next week. As they say, the first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.

So here is a quick map of the area the first part of the story will take place, The Dales. This is just a map I made with Photoshop (using the Baldur's Gate I map as background) to get an idea of what is where, and of course it's not the final one nor does it described the places that would be in the game. I would prefer to have a hand-made map for it, but since my drawing skills are non-existent, I may have to use something like this.

http://social.biowar...oject/96/#files

The region described is The Dales, west of Ferelden. North is the city of Halamshiral, once homeland of the elves, now populated mostly by humans. In the south is the "Arbor Wilds" forest, east are seen the slopes of the Frostback Mountains, west is Orlais.

I would welcome some feedback if you'd like or not a map based in this layout, with the final version being different of course.

Not really. Apart from the fact that the story is getting more and more sense and up to this point is in line with canon lore. The experiments and the projects the Tevinter magisters were performing beneath Kirkwall are related to the story (and to the elves).

I believe now that beside some personal issues that has kept me away from starting to work in the project (I have done some level building though), the main reason is that subconsciously I know that I wont be able to see it through by myself. The story is of epic proportions and it'll need a lot of work to get done.

For that reason I'd like to team up with other builders (on an equal basis) that will get an interest at the story and would like to realize it together. At this point I am looking for an experienced builder only (hopefully someone from the folks that regularly visit and post in this forum), if that happens and things start to take shape, the team could expand to the point that this can become a community project.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me to discuss things farther. You may find the tale intriguing enough to want to work together on it.

Thanks for the update Elvhen. As you have seen from my other posts, I am very new to this modding game and so I won't waste your time with offering my services as of yet. You'll be busy enough without babysitting me through each issue I run into. I do hope that some experienced modders step forward to help because this project, if realized, will truly be epic and lend a rich new dimension to the story. Once I am confident in my skills, I trust that you would entertain an offer of teamwork from this newbie(?). Of course you may already be done by the time I tame the toolset beast. :)

At any rate, I have a long term plan for a mod that does deal with the ancient elves so I may from time to time check in with you just to make sure that I am not conflicting with your mod. Cheers.
