I think this is a disguised brag thread, but whatever. Anyway, good job OP.

Pretty sad if I have to brag about cheesing Platinum.  I was just trying to make the point that if I can do it using his guide, anyone can.  Plus, I have seen many posts stating that Lone Wolf is the only banner that takes skill, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Fair enough.  I didn't think soloing gold with the Geth Trooper was that easy, but then again I did it on White (a week ago) rather than Giant and specced full hunter mode and 4 in fitness.

Assault rifle challenge takes a good amount of masochism to complete, especially for completing a challenge for every single assault rifle (like me).

I found it takes a good amount of Turian Ghost to complete =P

I actually found the Sniper Rifle one more annoying after I got through the couple of really good rifles and had to use choose between the Raptor(prior to the recent buff) or Incisor.

Though my point still stands. You can still grind out points, even if very slowly. Regardless of how skilled you are, you will eventually complete this challenge. The same can't be said of Lone Wolf. There is no setup that guarantee's victory, and you can't be carried by 3 other players.

Heh, completed Incisor today with Salarian Infi. It didn't feel all that terrible. Felt like a slightly more unstable Indra :)

So you admit that, even to make it the easier way, you needed the help of a guide. That's the proof, it took skilled players to create guides to teach unskilled players the skills to make soloing easy.

Anyway, congrats for your achievement.

None of the banners indicate skill. They are just there to look flashy.

No.  This an important part of my vocational training (no I'm not a military man.)

You have nearly 640 hrs of game time. More than enough experience to complete a gold solo

None of the banners require skill, just hours of commitment. I'll be glad when I'm finally done with my last challenge (Blood Pack Mastery).

This is an odd post. It's like a 'humblebrag' + 'denigrate other players' combo. With an 'Elitism III' consumable boosting it. Weird. Anyways, it had the effect of reducing my 'Faith in Humanity' score by 10 points. Congrats poster, you have made an impact on the world.

Not all Lone Wolves have done in this way or Krogan Vanguard :P

This. And most of those who have the banner did the solos several weeks ago, before the Geth Trooper and the guide existed.

Also, even if you used a Kroguard or the Geth Trooper, it takes some skill to solo Gold, let alone a Platinum game. From my experience doing PUGs, most of the players can't even solo the remaining of a wave on Gold, so if the leading player (or carrying player if you will) is instakilled, it is almost certain the game will end shortly (and the end will not be a happy one).

I personally don't do a U/U/G PUG game unless there is at least a player which I consider good enough to solo a wave. It is very frustrating to carry a whole team and seeing the game ending if I get instakilled. So if I see a player with the Lone Wolf, Hardcore or Nomad banners, for instance, I usually feel confortable to play with him. It is obvious that it is not a certificate of a good player, but it is at least an indication that he won't suck completely.

Maybe this will help with perspective...

If I had my Grandmother play Mass Effect and asked her to get the Bloodpack Mastery even if she plays Bronze every game and fails every mission after a certain amount of time she will still get that banner. On the flip side if I ask her to get the Lone Wolf Banner... no chance in hell. Because it does actually require some skill. It may not be this absurd challenge that only a few chosen can do, but it still requires skill. Believe it or not learning how to build a class, kill enemies, and stay alive is actually what skill is.

Doing the Husk points for Reaper Mastery took me about 3 weeks of dedication. God bless whoever needs those points.

never for me. I have all of the other reaper mastery, but husk just past 150k. what a collosal waste of time, and the true definition of a grind - to kill 1000 husks....

Thanks to Caneighis' solo Platinum guide using the Geth Soldier, I now have the Lone Wolf banner with about 5 hours invested in it.  I had no intention of trying to get the banner until I saw his guide, because quite frankly, I'm terrible at soloing.  After watching how easy his strategy made it though, I spent the next few hours soloing gold, averaging around 40 mins per clear.  Then I tried Platinum, taking 3 attempts to clear due to being stupid with Banshees.

So, can we stop saying that Lone Wolf takes skill, and only takes what the other banners require...several hours of dedication.

Can you give a link to this so-called guide please?:)

Lol, that wasn't the intention at all.  Perhaps the wording of my post caused confusion.  What I was trying to ask is, now that there is a very good solo build and strategy for platinum that most players can use (I seriously doubt I can solo platinum, or even gold with any other setup), should people still consider Lone Wolf to be the one banner that indicates skill?  I certainly wasn't trying to imply that anyone who has the banner isn't deserving of it, just start a discussion that apparently no one wants to have.
