A friend and I are playing FBW/Gold Hazard (we're both Australian) and we're talking the usual crap that we do and some American pipes up. He confidently says we're British which gave a burst of laughter from both of us. My friend says some expletive deletives and insults his intelligence. I calmly say "We're not British mate". Emphasis on the 'mate' because we all apparently say that :P. Needless to say he didn't say much after that and I think we wiped some time later.

Another time play as a Kroguard with the same friend, there was also another Asari. Muck around I start meleeing my friend and the Asari joins in. Me quoting the Krogan shaman from ME2 (well slightly changed) "I like this Asari, she understands!" Got a smirk from me and laughter from my friend.

Yeah I'm that boring....

To someone that doesn't hear the two accents all the time, yes, Australian can be mistaken for British. Was it really necessary to insult him?

A PUG little kid in a platinum match started fighting with his dad over the mic and then he quit the match so we assumed his dad turned off his console.

Wow, someone dug this thread back from the ashes, might as well add the most recent, though it's not as "funny" one:

Player:
"This damn cat keeps trolling my keyboard and i end up f*ing dying all the time!, i swear to god i'm going to sync-kill him the next time he hops on my keyboard!!"

Kind of cruel to say:?

Once my dad was yelling at my sister so I turned off my mic because it was on always on so the people who I was playing with didn't hear. Turns out I was using my laptop mic so it was on during the whole thing. I felt really embarassed after.

I'm guessing the player didn't know about the push to talk option. A lot of background noise from a player and another player shouts "Please stop that noise, we can all hear it!" It was small kids in the background. A few seconds later a man's voice shouts "Shut up! They can hear you!" This was followed by several kids starting to cry.

that might be serious Posted Image

I didn't insult him, that was my friend. It is kind of funny, we play up the 'ocker' accent, yet barely any Australian talks like that. Maybe an 'educated Australian' accent could be confused, but even then its quite distinctive. Its just as insulting to say we're British as it is to call a Canadian an American, its just one of those strange things XD.

Sorry I can't remember the origin ID of the Asari player. I do beleive it was on hazard Glacier...may have been Gold.

On topic: Just in general having conversations with my friends in game (talk tends to be related to mp) and just mucking around. Notable ones tend to be based around the objects like the petualant "But what I don't want to do that hack?" or "what if I don't want to extract" that sort of stuff. I'm sorry to the other people that we've played with if that annoys you in anyway.

Bwahahaha!! That is funny! Man, I now wish people on PSN weren't so... quiet... Even with mics, they are quiet... I want to hear people banter, now!

I agree, people are too quiet. I have a mic and i'm too damn shy to say anything even though i'd really like to (mostly because english is not my first language blergh). I really need to start building up my courage.

While playing Gold with a Vorcha Engineer with a Locust with a group that seemed to be friends:

"Vorcha aren't Gold viable", said one of them in the first wave.

The worse Vorcha kit ends up outscoring them.

I'm australian and nearly everyone I have come across mistakes me for a brit, I have to admit my language does slide into the vernacular I seldon curse without good reason. Here are few terms my teammates and I commonly use:

I refer to swarmers as space roaches
When I'm kiting a banshee with my N7 fury I refer to it as playing hide 'n' go freak.
Brutes: puppies
Seeker swarms: Collector cooties
Banshees: Shrieking horrors
Posessed abominations: Nuclear abominations
Phantoms: Bubble ninja
Geth pyros: Toasters
Geth bomber: Flying dutchmen
Atlas Mech: Trash compactor
Geth prime: Red october
Ravager: walking scrotum
Dragoons: Drag queens
Guardians: Spartans
Praetorian: Crab of death - I also refer to the lasers as its "death stare"

Whenever i'm playing as a N7 Fury, before I run into an enemy mob to prime them with AF, I yell out FEAR ME!
Whenever i'm playing as a destroyer, my friends refer to my playstyle as "grenades to the face" - which is true.
When I barbecue a Geth pyro with the flamer on my Geth trooper I yell "revenge"

Last night was funny, in a game with 2 German folks.

I am using the QFE and in the beginning of every round I trow a turret to a known enemy spawn spot.
Says 1 of them "That idiot always trows grenades and there are no enemies"

I got called a noob for taking my claymore drell adept into gold & told that it would screw my cool downs and that the drell in general is a terrible kit. Lol I laughed and said we'll see. I then proceeded to score 175k and clutch 4 waves for them and was promptly booted after the match lol. Ahhh random pugs...

Some guy: "****ing phantoms with their hand of denial, they refuse to get punched in the face!"
Me: "Women these days..."
---
Once I complained about being stabbed by a phantom, just to be replied by a girl with a sarcastic voice: "Aaaaaw, poor baby, show me on the doll where the bad girl touched you..."

I was once playing with a Drell Vanguard on Firebase Ghost Hazard, Gold, against Reapers.
The guy playing as the Drell keeps grunting and groaning into the mic as he gets hit, really, really loudly.

On wave ten he gets himself into a major cluster-f**k and screams into the mic "THESE SONS OF ****ES ARE OUT FOR DRELL BLOOD TODAY!" And I started to laugh so freaking hard, he continues to go on, and on.

Grunting and groaning, he gets grabbed by a Banshee, and I **** you not, starts praying to Kalihira. I began to laugh even harder at that point and when he finally gets stabbed by her he let's out the loudest, most bloodcurdling screech I've ever heard.

Of course at the end of the wave he gets back up, and we finish out the match, at the end of it he goes, "I can't believe I actually made it, when that banshee grabbed me, I thought that was it, my prayers have been answered."
Moment we're back in the lobby that crazy Drell disappeared, never to be seen again.

"Haha, what kinda glitch is that? The one Geth went like up in sparks and shot at the other Geth."
