Thanks to this thread. You saved me 15 bucks that I'll put towards some skyrim or arkham city DLC.

If you're thinking Harley Quinn's Revenge, I'd say skip it. Aside from getting to play as Robin there's not much to it. Fairly short too.

Thanks to this post. You saved me 10 bucks that I'll put towards skyrim and skyrim.

No...no, save your money for something good not WoW for those w/o friends.

what.

Dragonborn DLC will be epic.

Skyrim's world is epic, but the game is not epic at all IMO.

Speak for yourself i love Skyrim and i already know im going to love dragonborn.

I borrowed skyrim from my friend and bored with it after 20 hours. Skyrim just told me how amazing New Vegas is.

No, general consensus is that it's overpriced and too action orientated/self contained. That doesn't make it suck. Not so black and white.

Idon't see how shallow it is. It's a case of winning a key battle that would help in otherbatles ageint cerberus in the war.

I agree with dreman9999. The DLC only seems shallow because of how the series ends, which is not the fault of Omega. What Shepard stands to gain as a result of Omega makes perfect sense and its not like he/she knows how it will all end anyway. To the extent that is shallow is simply because BioWare slapped a price on it that was too high for what we got out of it.

I disagree with both of you.  Up until Thessia I never considered Cerberus to be a threat.  A pain in the ass yes but until that part of the game they fail in everything they attempt .   The whole focus Shep has is to bring the key players of the galaxy together to battle the real threat, the Reapers.   Why would I care if Cerberus controls Omega and influence of the Terminus systems?  Is there actually something in those systems that matter in the big picture?  Are they really that blind to what is going on all over the galaxy?

I asked these questions many times since this DLC was announced and I have never gotten an answer that actually made sense.   Personally I never liked Aria anyways and the only way I would ever help her is if there was something real that helped against the reapers be it another weapon or tech or lost secrets.

The main issue I have with any DLC ME3 comes out with is it is forced to happen before the game ends yet none of it will ever change how it ends.  At least with Leviathan I understood why Shep would put his mission on hold to find out what was going on.  This one won't even do that.  I am glad that there are others that found it worth the time and money but I will not be one of them.

Okay, I'm still reading thru the thread, but it makes me nervous.

Not for the DLC, but because Manveer tweeted sumthing earlier today abt how the core team that made this omega dlc is the same core team that will be working on "ME4".

Hmm...idk...I will read some more of this thread.

That's what I'm concerned about, most of all.

Omega is good, at best. Generally 'ok'. Not worth the $15 overall, but if it was priced like Leviathan ($10) that would be fair enough.

But if this is the trend we'll see from that studio, I'm worried.

-better cutscenes
-buggier cutscenes/areas

-better combat areas
-far more hoard mode scenarios

-flashier story scenarios
-no payoff in end, lack of detail, corridor to corridor

Basically Omega is enjoyable enough, but just barely, and if this is what we are to expect from Mass Effect now, count me out.

At least Leviathan quickly grew on me because I could nom nom nom on story details. If Omega has any secret messages/symbolism, its quickly detected and digested by me and I've already moved on :S

I love New Vegas and Skyrim equally as both games are meant for 2 different audiences and do things very differently which is why i like them.

This is what I gathered. The
majority of BSN say it's bad, lackluster, repetitive, shallow, has
limited dialogue options, Aria pandering, lack of choices, OVERPRICED,
missing squadmates/LI scenes, no story - just shooting, that Leviathan
is superior to this, this is just MP made into SP, and SPOILERS: Nyreen
dies lamely, Aria returns to the Citadel (her couch) after Omega, her
speech falls flat and is glitchy, Omega doesn't become a hub world, you
get no additional squadmates, and you're apparently sent on a fetch
quest for a couch. So yeah, I guess it does. Wait till the price comes down. Some say it's a fun experience but not for the price.

$14.99 for 2 hours of cut content.

Took me at least 4-5 but that's because I went to forum off and on, and was playing on Insanity, and exploring every bit.

I guess its more 3 hours on average for most players.

The biggest DLC so far imo, and the 3-4 missions are full feeling missions in their length, yet yeah, underwhelming.

I do appreciate Omega for its 'padding' element - when I have new playthroughs of the game, the Omega trip is nice to help Shep get some upgrades and EXP, and at least a few more hours of combat/gameplay.

But $15 was too high for it.

Mass effect team goes downhill for me constantly since Me3.
Yeah the norm for them seems to be cutscenes with a few dialogue that is purely aesthetic and tons of fast exploding biotic action.
The coolddowns on ME3 were abysmal. Whoever thought that 200% reduction was a good idea in the final version should be fired. This WAS an rpg . Hell, Me2 had action just right, but not at that level of stupidity.

This is a rather underwhelming DLC.

Story is nothing special.
The characters and their conflicts are not that interesting.
The voice acting is average.
The action set-pieces are nothing to write home about.

Just meh.

Michael Gamble gets defensive on twitter when someone says: "@GambleMike Robbed was pro'ly the wrong word, but I'm disappointed. Told us it was the biggest DLC ever. Why misinform in PR?"

His reply: "@kcmorris725 Did you play it?Or read about someone who read about someone who played it?Omega takes longer to complete than any previous DLC"

From what i've gathered in this thread, which i know is not a representative sample, the DLC is around 2.5-3 hours long. I've played all other ME2-3 DLC's and never did timed how long they were but, are the other DLC's really shorter than 2.5-3 hours?

@aryon69 - Wait wait wait...so what exactly is the in-game reason to retake Omega? Just "Cerberus has it, so thus we must relieve them of it"? I agree - who cares if they have it unless it holds some key information or resources to assist against the Reapers? Why Bioware insists on focusing so much attention on Cerberus as an enemy, I shall never understand.

I really hope this isn't the case, though, and there is SOME Reaper-related justification for going to Omega...

[EDIT] Oh, and off-topic remark: Skyrim is over-rated.  The world is amazing but I don't care about anyone in it & after 30+ hours spent in the world it ends up feeling like a soul-less dungeon crawler.

I think the last mission of the DLC is genuinely the worst mission of any game I've ever played.

Usually, even when things are difficult, I enjoy playing a game, but there was no fun to be had here. Slogged through it just because I wanted to see the end.

This DLC peaked in the middle.

The Talon Base and the Mine.

Which is funny because the first mission clearly had the most FMVs and cinematic attention, and the last one was all 'OOO ARIA ANGRY SMASH' and 'LOOK AT ME IM EVIL WITH GOATEE'

The in-game reason is that Cerberus are using Omega as a base and Aria will allow you to use all her resources if you take it back.

Which is pretty underwhelming, given the potential it had.

I purchased it this morning and started my play through, but I had to stop and go off to work. My first thought was about Space Battle in the beginning that had me thinking, “WTF!? Aria, you promised my Shepard those forces to fight the Reapers and now you are squandering them on a pointless effort to take back a station that holds no strategic value.”

Experimentation on audjuntctsz things.

And mining for eezo.

They want a slave race.

I mean there's... ok, there's HINTS that Cerberus is up to something larger, and the idea of a Cerberus Crucible and controlling all of the Reapers IS still open... but there's no revelation here. It's just what was there before.

So the story is still 'go in, take Omega, yay War Assets'.

I enjoyed the DLC very much. This is of course, considering it's played before we would know how me3 turns out...

And that is my main point. This should have been in from the beginning, and should not have cost us 15(15?!)$.
Also, what was witht he buggy cutscenes?

Other then that, very good. I doubt bioware will make another single player DLC, because once they get a bit of negative feedback it's all "nah, naaah! that's not true! No moar for you!", but, as a final DLC... This sure was enjoyable. Thanks.

<3 flare. and nyreen. and aria. and petrovsky. and harrot. and the lots of good battles. and the quite well paced story. and the new enemies. and the revisiting some old omega places.

:'( cutscenes, price, even less dialogue options than before.

That is...really underwhelming, especially considering Aria already offered and supplied us with her mercenary resources without me having to spend the additional $15 for this DLC.  These new Reaper enemies - A-somethings - why couldn't they have been tied in to our reasoning for investigating Omega?  News of a strange new Reaper enemy emerging from Omega, and perhaps Cerberus is involved in their development/mutation?  But no...it's just dumb 'ol Cerberus again, yuk yuk yuk

[EDIT] @Swoby - OH, so they are doing stuff with those Adjunct things?  Wow, and I just pulled that idea out of my butt...glad to see they're not included for nothing!

like I wrote in another thread

minus:

well 5 hours right....
done 3 hours later
the starting attact in space was somehow lacking
mainly technical issues, some places were like completely without music, in others the music just didn't fit
graphic issues especially while Aria's speech, totally ruined it

plus:
aria, just awesome
nyreen great
race diversity, loved it
elcor!!! glad he didn't remember I threathened breaking his legs
mines part was like cut out from dead space :D
aria
and aria

p.s. the music issues is it colective problem, or was it just me? some parts or areas completely without music even ambient, just footsteps and voice

I just finished my play through. I'm not sure what to think. I felt story wise it was pretty weak. I was hoping for a plot point that would affect the main story in a way.I loved the characters though and I'm also a little disappointed that you can't go back to visit Omega.

There is a special hell awaiting the person who wrote Nyreen's extremely contrived and unnecessary death.
