Loved it. Waiting for the moan-wave to subside. I'm sure it's not going to be to everyone's tastes, but... everyone hated ME2, now they love it, everyone hated Leviathan and now Omega's being compared negatively to it. Have to question how much of it's rational criticism and how much of it's children clinging to vendettas. Confirmation bias - they expect to be disappointed, so anything that's slightly different to what they would've done gets tasered. Leave them to it. Half the feedback rings very whiny, though.

Omega's a different kind of story to any of the previous DLCs. Good one. More fulfilling than Leviathan, for me. Possibly more fulfilling than Shadow Broker. Probably is, actually. Aliens and sidequests, great characters, great ideas, cracking. Fantastic new enemies - better than the MP ones, I'd add - feels in some ways like we've seen more of Omega than we ever did in ME2.

Only thing, can't work out whether Nyreen's bubble is a bonus power that I made the wrong decisions to unlock, or just plain not available. Hope it's there, was looking forward to breaking that out on another character.

Keep going with your generalizations buddy.

Detached, uninteresting, repetitive. And they still have frigging cutscene Avengers.

A bit glitchy. Had to restart a section two times because a trooper was flung somewhere outside of the map without dying, causing the game to tell me to "clear the area" and not letting me proceed.

Combat bland, too easy. Adjutants too easy, not scary.

6/10, would not buy again.

I usually roll a renegade, so I like that you took that view point. I actually like Aria. However, from the bulk of the reviews it seems combat heavy. I can pop in ME3 and shoot at Cerberus for nothing.  I still have a couple of friends on Live who have the same expectations that I have when it comes to DLC's, I'll make my final decision when I hear from them. As it stands now, I think I will wait for a sale. It sounds like it might be something amusing to pass time with, but not engaging enough for the price.

There is A LOT of combat. Honestly, I play DLC on normal and just rip through the fighting. DLC lasted me about 2 hours. I find that creeping around the levels and sticking my nose into every corner ruins the experience!

I missed my squad mates with this, but putting that to one side I really enjoyed my first playthrough of this. I loved the characters old and new and the general atmosphere in the 2 hubs. It's DLC guys it doesn't remake a game, it was just an added adventure. I'm looking forward to the next single player DLC.

4/10 And im being generous, as i don't care at all about the combat and 90% of this dlc is combat, its not for me. The story was bad. voice acting was meh, No idea why cerberus needed Omega, while they could just do their things on another base somewhere in the system. Nyreem is ok but killed off, no chance to build myself caring for her. Thats about it, 15 dollars for a shootemup mission for 3 hours is just subpar.

It was honestly not worth my money. $15 for what we got was incredibly pricey. 1/4 of retail price for 1/10 of the length of the game.

Audio and visual effects were unfinished as well. Textures popped in and out several times. (Xbox 360).

Voice Acting seemed... uninspired.

Overall it wasn't that impressive. Nothing controversial, but nothing that makes it all that great. It also felt out of place in the context of the story.

To be fair, my butt was clenching pretty hard before they showed up.  Mega dark hallway and weird whispering in the distance?

The moment they showed up, eh.  Not scary, died easily.

I did like how we could influence Aria to reaffirm or change her personality which comes out on what she says at the end. I played 3 playthroughs paragon renegade and paragade and there was differences in the end.

True. It would have been much better in M2.

I'm pissed that you don't get to bring you squadmates along. Seeing how they react to working with Aria/Nyreen and their comments on Omega would have definitely made me get this even if the story is lackluster. Especially if they added some more LI scenes.

Even better, they don't even have any comments after the fact. Not. A. Single. One.

So, what do we learn from this? If you love ME3 combat and are a hardcore Aria fan you might want to get this, despite the high price. You also get some War Asset points, a lot of cutscenes, an acceptable villain, a temporary female Turian squaddie and new powers.

Or, instead of spending 15$ on 2-4 hours of DLC you might wanna think about spending 25$ on the "The Walking Dead" game. Five episodes going from 2-3 hours each, while offering a good deal of replayability. They are also one of the greatest examples of storytelling I've seen in games in the last years. Just something to consider...

It was truly awful. Buggy and lazy piece of DLC that was filled with cut corners and wasted potential. Probably the worst Mass Effect-DLC, not counting Pinnacle Station or Firewalker. Lack of player agency, the dialogue and storytelling wasn't even remotely interesting and didn't offer any sort of insight. Everything lacked soul and there was no payoff whatsoever. Not to mention it was highly overpriced.

Nyreen was a pretty ok character, only to meet her abrupt and horribly played out death later on. Petrovsky really got the short end of the stick. Such a shame.

Omega ended up being 2 hours of mindless shooting galleries through dull environments and dark corridors. It was also disappointing that we couldn't bring any squadmates, Garrus sure would've had lot to say about all. But yeah, it was known beforehand but still, very disappointing.

Have to give it though, it was kinda hilarious to see Aria back sitting in Purgatory after giving her final speech on Omega.

Several things:

-Wasn't there an Omega hub mentioned several times via twitter? Where's the hub. I mean..there's no omega to be heard of anywhere.

-Also, I was REALLY expecting Nyreen to at least join me..but..she died..and rather lack luster too. So..there's NO new squadmates?

-Aria was a fun character - love the voice acting. Really great. But..there was too much combat. For once, I actually wanted more dialogue.

Overall the price was NOT worth it. Wait until it's 10 bucks..and even then.. pay with caution.
-----

On the positive side:

-Flare. Awesome. Long cooldown, but it's pretty darn amazing.
------

By the end of the DLC I thought "Huh. Ok.. so what now?" Even Leviathan had a greater effect on me - the water scenes were stunning. But..this just went out with a whimper.

Aria: "I only want the best." Evidently, "the best" does not include:

- A Turian who nearly crippled three gangs with a ragtag bunch of twelve.
- Two Spectres; potentially a former one
- A possible N7 recruit
- A Quarian Admiral with extraordinary tech skills
- The goddamn Shadow Broker
- A stealth spaceship

Good thinking, Aria. None of that could possibly be useful.

I understand the limitations and cost requirements but they certainly could have come up with something better than "I don't like them."

Best Aria line from the DLC "How things begin isn't nearly as important as how they end."  Not even joking

Read my post for a full review, but honestly this is the first DLC I've ever purchased where upon finishing I felt I needed to patch it. How the hell does that happen?

Not horrendous; LOVE what they did with Aria, but definitely not worth $15. 6.5/10

Just finished watching it on YouTube. Roughly 2 - 3 hours depending on how much you fiddle through menus and explore maps for credits. EA indoctrination is the only way to justify a price hike for their biggest hallway combat DLC ever. A $7 Kasumi or Overlord price would have been more appropriate.

The last year as a Mass Effect fan has given me a glimpse into how die-hard Star Wars fans felt as they saw Lucas destroying the thing they loved with those awful prequels.

Except The Walking Dead has the WORST examples of "illusion of choice" ever, and not everyone likes zombies.  I'm quite sick of them by now.

lulz wut? Why is she back on the Citadel? Didn't she take back Omega? Wasn't it the entire point of the DLC?

I thought it was great that the first female Turian we meet was in a same-gender relationship with Aria :P Good job Bioware! :D

+ Nothing to do with Reapers. Yes, the Reapers are the least interesting thing in the entire series IMO.
+ Made Omega feel large.
+ Focus shifted away from humanity.
-- Glitches.

9.5/10

Disclaimer: this is my entirely subjective opinion of it.

Story was a nice change of pace, but the setup just felt constricting compared to Leviathan which gave more freedom in travel.  I understand the reasoning since Omega is a central place you are fighting through but compared to the context of what is happening in the main game and other DLC it just doesn't feel important enough to warrent Shepards presence.

Edit: Would have been nice to see Patriarch if you let him live in ME2.

I don't dislike this DLC, it' just a bit restrictive, though understandable why it is this way.

I decided to skip this one and gave my $15 dollars to Child's Play instead.
Bioware had a chance to redeem itself after Leviathan and it's overpriced-ness, and they dropped the ball. Again.

Hope all you guys who did buy it at least had fun. Kick Cerberus's butts for me!
