What about Forgotten Verses?

Will we be able to know what was discovered from those scrolls? I know this is only a subplot, but I think that something like that would be worth a mention in a future game...

I'd be pretty interested to know what both those texts actually contain.

The Chant of Light also excised the Book of Shartan, and I think there was a quest in Awakening that dealt with Maferath's final words as well. Apparently there was supposed to be a "final" book in the Chant of Light or something?

Yes, the Canticle of Maferath in the Wending Woods, which is included in the dissonant verses. I think it would be interesting seeing what would happen if some proof, like Maferath's diary, would support this Canticle. Seems perfect for a game that involves inquisition...

They chantry would likely not acknowlegde these verses. As plantineff said they cut out the elves part when it didn't fit anymore.
Anything that suggest that Maferath wasn't a total dick would likely not be accepted or be buried (Along with the finder of the verses).
Anyway, personally I don't care. I don't care what Andraste might not have said, because it is nearly a thousan years since she said it and any proof has bound to be translated and interprented at least once in the mean time to even make it readable, and the chances of something vital to be lost in that translation is too high for me to value any lost verses.

Imho it's not about what Andraste or Maferath said, but what would happen if it's discovered and it's not like the canonical version. It is likely that the Chantry would try to silence Sister Justinia (the one who's decrypting the verses) and I think something like this could be part of a game involving inquisition.

the idea of it is just so very dead sea scrolls-y and gnostic gospel-ish that it makes me tingle!
