From time to time, I see two players engaging in a "heated" firefight -- shooting each other's avatars after a wave is completed.  Is this an expression of rage or a friendly jest (just clowning around)?
I am a big fan of Krogan headbutting, and I have also seen other kits using a light melee to show comradery.  Shooting a few rounds to celebrate the end of a wave sounds like fun, but I don't want to offend anyone.  So what do you think: to shoot or not to shoot?  Image IPB

I shoot people when i want to actually shoot them and let bleed out, or their character says funny stuff.

Usually it "friendly fire" is not friendly in my experience.

Melee is like a high five to me. I shoot someone when they're doing something stupid. I don't waste ammo unless you ****** me off.

Only seen this, maybe twice and it was without a question rage....always between two other players but I had a good idea what was going on

For me, the light melee is a sign of approval.

Shooting a team mate in da face with a Claymore at point-blank range is my way of saying "I found your actions in that last wave a tad bit questionable"

I shoot at people when they aren't in the hack/escort circle.

I often shoot them by accident, when they have the urge to run in front of my black widow for some reason.

For me it's usually just to fool around at the end of each wave :D or at people AFK during a match.

I did it for the first time just last night, and it was definitely not a show of approval. I played a Gold/Reapers/Jade game with a guy that hadn't broken 10k by wave 7. On the wave 6 objective, he was too timid to even join the escort. I'm usually very permissive and supportive of newer players, even if they're playing Gold and shouldn't be, but not if they don't try to be team players. I was telling the guy to GTFO. It was the best way I could show my disapproval without chewing him out on the mic, and I knew I wouldn't meet my own standards of courtesy if I had (I didn't want to be "cursing douche guy," and this seemed the best middle ground).

I mostly fool around with it. If I'm using a PPR, prepare to be laser spammed.

Somtimes I get in front of the players carrying the pizza and start meleeing them , hoping they will drop it so I can run with it and finish the mission faster.

I noticed it few days ago.
When that happened,I looked at score.I was above the player, that shot at me.Maybe he was telling me,not to steal his kills?

I use to shoot missiles on people when they keep dying, doing the same mistakes and don't use medigel when it's needed.
I also spacebarspacebarspacebar their face when they're bleeding or heavymelee their corpse with the volus.

imo heavy melee is positive and shooting is negative.
If someone keeps light meleeing me I usually take it as something negative. EDIT Unless they're krogan of course. The headbut is probably the highest praise one can bestow in this game :)

With friends just goofing around, with randoms standing in front of me would be the only time I'd shoot em, if they don't get in the hack circle and they go down meh just let em bleed out.

Generally with randoms, If I shoot you 1-2 times, it's friendly. But If I unload my entire round on you, it means you did something really stupid that last wave that I can't believe we made it to this one.

I love screwing around between matches, so I melee a lot (shoot sometimes). I've cut down on it now tho, since after I melee congratulated one player who clutched us (I got synced early on), the other guys chided me for being impatient with them all for sucking (which wasn't really the case).

If I'm shooting at you I'm pissed off.

Usually I'm only really upset though when I'm solo'ing rounds and everyone else is bled out on the floor. That's when I tend to unload a clip into teammate's bodies when I get the chance.
