Yep. That guy is far better than me or anyone else for that matter. He's a machine. He can make good players feel like noobs who have only played a couple of gold games.

When Jay gets dc'ed enemies still continue to randomly drop dead, headless.

True story. :P

A score of 250 with PUGs just means that the PUGs are terribad. That is not a balanced game at all.

^^^ This. As I had posted before I mostly play platinum and everyone scores above 100k minimum which shows the skill level s even accross the board. I have never seen a score over 170k in one of my platinum lobbies with the players I play with that's unless we are milking the waves for xp. That's a whole different story.

Any of the PUG's I used to play, when we would wipe it would go like this:

Waves go smoothly and fairly quickly
I get grabbed
Instant wipe on same wave, even if very little left in the spawn budget.

<_< My thoughts at the time: WTF? How do these guys even do silver without me?

Lololol

That actually happened once, synapse was hosting a game with me, magnolie and jay, he got disconnected somewhere around wave 7 and then we all died horribly in a fire.

I feel quite the opposite: I enjoy playing with people that are better than me because they make me a better player.

Actually I learned a lot by playing with Feneckus, Jay, Sy7ar and Scampoo, among others. Even if I very rarely outscore them I always have fun and, because of the things I learned by playing with them, when I do a PUG, I almost always topscore, regardless of the class I'm playing.

No, of course it's not balanced. But I'm not a bad player, neither were those other two guys. Under normal circumstances this would've been a decent PUG by any standards. I still scored 80k or so. It's just that Feneckus was way better than anyone I've ever seen in the MP, ever.

Ashen Earth popped into a lobby of mine the other day and I got geeked, as I was looking forward to the prospect of having to step up my game. It was Cerberus/Glacier/Gold. I was using a level 19 Krogan Sentinel with Scimitar (weapons banner challenge dontchaknow), had gear and consumables on. There was one other player there, don't remember what they were playing. I readied, as I'm fairly confident nowadays, and then was mildly bummed when he left.

Ah well, maybe I too can be scorecrushed someday.

I was in a PUG with sy7ar once. Pretty sure he was a drelldept and I was a Destroyer.

There wasn't a spawn to be found anywhere in the map that I could get to first...

Try having Lord_sirian, Fenekus, and Jay in the same lobby. I actually went under 1k points for 2 waves or such because I couldn't find any kills. This was before I taught myself to ignore the spawns they go to and try to find the next spawn.

I don't doubt there are quality players in the game... but 1 person scoring that much means the quality and balance of the team was off.

There is a finite amount of points you earn in non-objective waves. Objective waves and extraction can be endless and that's where the point totals come from. Not saying this was the case, but a pro-longed objective round can lead to higher XP totals... whether it takes too long to deliver the pizza, get in the hack etc.

Then there is equipment and level. A level 20 fully specc'd TGI with a Piranha or Harrier and level 4 equipment with a group of medium ranked characters with average guns and average equipment will cause a severe point spike as well.

Most I scored in a Gold Pug was 268K as a level 16 GI with a Claymore... because the team was terrible. It's not because I'm an amazing player, it's because the circumstance lead to such an obscure score. I did 2 area hacks with only 1 person in there with me each time which prolonged the game. Combine the quality of the player with the horrible quality of a team and you see scores like this.

Probably would have left too if I saw that set up.  Actually no, I'm an idiot that doesn't know when to quit.

So true. I went down once and I didn't want to use medi gel because there was only a Marauder and a Banshee left. They all died.

WTF ?

I play with someone like this on the PS3, ID TMB903. Always in the right spots for spawns, then you get the leftovers. I actually thought I was pretty good before playing with him :)

Right, don't forget the time we had the exact same loadout on a T.Soldier (Typhoon, consumables) and I was just ahead of you. It's not like it never happens.

It was just funny trying to run to a spawn and watching you just zoom past me when halfway there.

Oh Destroyer, why you so slow. Was a little while ago, just after Retaliation maybe.

I played with Feneckus today, first time I recall seeing a BSNer in a game (though I only realized where I knew the name from just now). He scored about 250,000 points in a gold pug.

TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND POINTS! How is that even possible? If I end up in a particularly horrible pug and have to carry them, I might end up with 150,000, tops. And this wasn't a horrible pug. All of us were doing fine, albeit with slightly lower than usual scores because Feneckus apparently had a point magnet stored somewhere on his person.

It's only recently that I've become good at playing gold. I can now take almost any character to gold and make extraction, and not feel like a dead weight, even with non-favoured kits. With my favoured kits I can easily carry a bad pug. But today, I felt as useless as the day I first tried gold.

I quit the lobby after the game, because playing with someone who might as well be playing solo for all the difference you're making isn't fun. Sure, it's easy credits, but also boring. Image IPB

How anyone can get this good at a game is beyond me. Image IPB

Consider yourself lucky OP, whenever I try to pug gold without friends I usually end up being either the best player or 2nd best which is never a good sign for a lobby :pinched:  If i was you I woulda stayed and milked the creds for as long as possible, and hey maybe even learned a thing or two.
