you can definitely tell whos the good players are, they are the ones that are either at the objective or clearing to it at most if not all times. Sure you can rack up points by standing on the other side of the map while the team is doing the objective but is it because you are focused on the points or helping the team...
I agree.
Being on the other side of the map killing things is both selfish and stupid. It's selfish because you're not helping the team and it's stupid because enemies can respawn right next to the objective.
If I'm carrying the pizza and I have a clear route to the LZ, I don't need you to kill/nuke stuff at the other end of the map so they can respawn between me and the LZ.
So true. I make a point of only killing stuff if they're hindering our chance to do the objective/threatening to kill someone, during objective waves. Otherwise, it's just a waste of ammo.

It's from a Flamer/melee only run.I think it was Jay's idea in the first place, he also uploaded that picture. He photoshopped it himself.
He surely had to photoshop it to hide the headshot medal. Jay's flamer does get headshots.

Yes he does! I've been in a PuG couple of times with him lately. First time I thought "hey, I saw that name somewhere..." Then when everything on the map seemed to die before I could realize where they were, I recalled I saw him mentioned in one of those "best player around" topic.
It's been the first time I've played with a seriously incredibly good player. Everyone reacts differently I guess, because I took it as a challenge and did my best to try and outscore him. And I learned a lot from him even during the few games we played together.
So, to everyone his own I guess, but I'd like to meet these super elite players a lot more. Would make me a better overall player, I feel

It is a blast playing with good players like him! You need to change the challlenge of the game in these circumstances... Either try to keep up or try to figure out how he's doing it!

Yeah, PUGS wipe a lot on Gold. I'm by no means a great player. I don't think I've ever scored more than maybe 150k or 160k in a Gold game, and I can't carry a Gold team. Most Gold PUG players can't carry a team, for that matter. If I'm playing with 3 other players who are as good as I am, we're probably going to extract at least 80% of the time (it would be 95% if not for Collectors). If there are a couple of stragglers who can't contribute anything and go down all the time, we're probably going to wipe.Rad_Rage wrote...

I fail to see how finishing a game is a measure of good or bad. It's rare anyone wipes, is it not?
No, people wipe (especially on gold) a lot more. I don't know exact numbers but I think some statistic came out from Bioware a while ago that basically said (I'm paraphrasing) most gold games end in failure. And just from personal experience, every time I've gotten grabbed in a gold game with PUGs, even if it's just wave 3, we wipe. Hell, even out of the innumerable silver games I've played almost every time I've gotten grabbed the team has wiped shortly afterward.

This was a complaint thread. He was talking about having a sense of uselessness in a game because there was a great player there that sort of make the entire team feel redundant.Boog_89 wrote...

How is that verbally fellating anyone? If I told you that playing with you kind of sucked, would you regard it as a compliment?

has turned into players complimenting other players. I take no issue with the
previous, but I figured her comment was made in jest, and as such, I thought it
was amusing. BSN is a much better place when everyone is laughing, as opposed
to arguing who’s a n00b and what kit/weapon is OP!

Also read the complete thread, but most players say that score is an indication of being a good player. Not one of them said it's what determines a good player.
Feneckus himself said that killing things on the other side of the map during objective rounds is something he doesn't do, so I really don't understand your post.

But some people out there, man. It's strange to team up for a gold or platinum and come away the lowest scorer.

So having a 90% success rate on gold is terrible? I'm glad you've all decided you know how bad I am. Really makes me glad I posted this thread. For the record, that makes Feneckus the first non-terrible player I've seen in 1200 games. No wonder you people complain about pugs if a team that could've easily finished the mission even without Feneckus there still counts as terrible.
There are different ways of quantifying success. I go mostly by medals first, then score, then finishing. But if Feneckus is getting that score then something is wrong with the team.
I don't play on the PC but I often wonder what it's like to play with people like this? Everyone has a different style of play, and even different pacing. Just because someone can rush to a spawn and wipe it quickly does not mean that the other teammates are terrible dead weights. I've never seen anyone score that high in any of the games I have been in, but I used to play with someone who would stick to only one class and two weapon types (Geth Infiltrator, Scorpion and Harrier, surprise surprise!), rush to spawns, and spray the area before other teammates could contribute in any meaningful way. Doesn't mean we are relying on that one player. It does make me think that it also comes down to player incompatability. If you can finish a Gold in 15 minutes using a power class, more power to you. However, I do hope it doesn't lead certain players to think that someone playing at around a 23 minute mark is somehow a scrub in comparison.

Seriously this crap is so annoying. Stupid how the mods let these circle jerkin threads go on for so long.
