Much love for this idea. I'd love all my characters to have distinct looks, even if they are of the same class - as long as their specialisations differ =)

Imagine wearing a templar-inspired armour set on one character, then loading up your next PC who has donned a robe full of imagery of vein-like roots. Your third character could be clad in dark leathers unique to the shadow class and your fourth could be an iconic heavy plate set marking your character as a champion.

Crap, this is great. Wonderful idea!

Yup, exactly!

Similar to how the Champion armor was so distinct in DA2, it was just awesome to see the difference between a Champion Hawke and a refugee Hawke, or a Rogue from a Warrior, etc.

Some specialization specific armor would be great, but sometimes it makes less sense to advertise what you are, like being a Blood Mage.

True.

Also, with the new rumors sprouting about DA3 being on next-gen consoles and such, hopefully this sort of in-depth customization idea could work (as in, enough room in the game to be added in).

I like the way of thinking, but not the way you want to execute it. I just like to look cool and what if my spec only allows for stupid pansy armors? Fu that!

I do agree that specialization should have some kind of impact though. I don't really know in what way but it would be a nice thing to see. I've always wanted class specific chat options. Like as a warrior being able to tell someone I'll shove my warhammer up their butt or as a mage that I'll turn them into crickets.

Just because we know the black robes with red stripes is exclusive to blood mages, does not necessarily mean the people in Thedas know ;) Same would go for most outfits I imagine, templar aside.

I like this idea in that it makes the game visually distinctive from one play through to the next. However, they have enough problems putting together 8 or 10 different mage robes in a single game, much less trying to put together multiple specialization gear.

So my response is, sure if they are going to really put alot of effort in to clothing and armor or no if they are going to go the this robe has different stats and a few different colors route

Specialization will have a much bigger roleplay value in DA3, which is something I really support. Now, if that includes visual distinctions, sure, that sounds even better.
