In reflection over the uproar about the ending, I think it was not the supposed deus ex machina (which it really wasn't), nor was it bad writing or laziness.  I think that the writers made the decision to focus only on ending Shepard's story, as opposed to the other characters in the universe. It wasn't that your choices didn't matter, it was that  the effect of your choices played out before the final choice, and it wasn't clear what their relevance was after that.

So I think maybe Bioware should work on a game that can import all your choices from Mass Effect 3, and you can play minicampaigns that show what happened after the end of ME3,  as each of the characters in your squad that survived. Well maybe not all of them, but certainly original squadmates from 1. So at least Tali, Garrus, Ashley/Kaidan, Liara, and Wrex.

This might seem really complex to create given all those choices and the ways they might intersect. But, I think that for each character, the choices that affect their post ME3 story will be limited to the ending choice, and whatever affected their respective storyline, but not much else. This will give a lot of replay value depending on your previous choices, you will get to see what happens to your favorite people in their efforts to do whatever needs doing after the end, and you will actually get to play as them. Maybe it could just be a straight up third person shooter, as opposed to choosing dialogue for them, since their characters are already defined.
