1) 15 minute short (live action) films like this, i would gladly pay $10 for something of equal production value

2) multiplayer level editor, sell us the tools to make our own maps and a method of sharing the maps with the community (see steam workshop for a good example of this).then the game will live on past DLC #4 and it will quiet the people saying this map is too hard/easy they can make their own map of a single room full of 40 banshees if they like.

i mean bioware has the map making tools themselves and we all have the textures and assets installed with the game, package it up and sell it, though console people would be out in the cold as far as making maps (even Valve wouldn't go near consoles with the portal2 level editor) but clearly they can download maps that didn't come on the disc as seen by earth dlc

Hah, they won't do that. Someone might do the endings many people wanted.

Yeah, if they want a dlc everyone will love. They should actually fix the endings. That would win a lot of people over.

How 'bout a huge story DLC with well integrated vehicle section like Overlord?

This would work too. Anything that isn't just a shooting gallery would work nicely. Remember when the action services the plot and not the other way around?

The key is selecting your target audience, create a game specifically for that targeted audience then stick with it.

Creating jack of all trades games and dlc is always going to result in more complaints than a 'focused' game or dlc. Of course it has something to do with personal preference but you would've seen very little complaints if the omega dlc had been lighter on GOW style action and featured a more compelling story and characters without holes and offered choices that actually affected the outcome.
