What specifically has you thinking that the only use for dark channel is BEs?Annomander wrote...
Dark channel is worthless on the character, as BE's are weaker than the BEs of other classes and gain nothing from cloak.
Its damage per second, even boosted by cloak is not as good as simply combining warp + incendiary or warp + warp IV.
Sure, it deals damage, but I see no point in wasting a cooldown on DC when you'll get better results out of just using warp + weapon damage and ammo power of your choice on a boss.
If you were planning on solo'ing then it would have great value for taking down bosses as its persistent damage would be great for annoying targets like banshees.

What about what I said above? About using it, then using the continuous stream of fire from a PPR with warp ammo to keep firing on the DC'd target as it shifts? Warp ammo IV does +60% to everything but shields, and when primed, that doubles. For single targets, Warp+Incendiary is a better choice, clearly, but I'd never want to use it on something small, since they all dodge anyways.Annomander wrote...

This aspect of DC will still be effective even if you put only 3 ranks into it. I want the Slow effect and I don't give a **** about rank 5 or 6 on TC, so I'm doing more, but the point is that DC can be useful as a primer even if you don't have a detonator.

This is what I was thinkingAnnomander wrote...
Going for full warp for debuffs, maxing fitness for melee damage and going for a warp IV weapon damage / melee build.
Dark channel is worthless on the character, as BE's are weaker than the BEs of other classes and gain nothing from cloak.

That's what I did
However, I did put 6 points in DC b/c TC's rank 6 is completely pointless. Having the option to prime cheap enemies (those who will either dodge or bubble-block Warp) to get Warp Ammo's nice damage bonus is pretty good.
I hope this Asari is actually good at melee'ing stuff ...

You don't like power classes?

Tactical Cloak: Duration, recharge speed, bonus power
Dark channel: just first three to prime enemies before cloaking and sneaking up with warp at hand
Warp: Biotic detonations, pierce, expose
Passive: Power and weight, power.
Fitness: All durability.
Going to give her some fun shotgun and see what she can do...

It has more to do with the fact that we already have plenty of Asaris.

If you use DC as your bonus and Warp as your TC breaker why take the TC cd evolution when you'll be using Warp's cd?setrus86 wrote...

I could see going 4/6/6 on the first three powers or 6/6/6 or even 6/0/6 but I can't see why putting 3 points into DC makes sense. Can you explain why you'd do this?

Max everything but fitness. Win.
of course. But when I checked fitness afterwards, I think someone can make use of evo6 power damage increase....hmm...:innocent:
I didn't notice fitness R6 was power damage since I haven't spent any credits yet, ya I'll likely skip DC since it was just flavor for the cloak+warp+(insert pretty much any weapon here) and win recipe.

I went for extra damage and extra power in TC and my BEs seemed to be doing noticably more damage when done from TC.

Here is how: 6/6/6/5/3 build using TC duration + recharge-speed + bonus-power.
You have over 10 sec TC, which you cancel right away by 2 power casts, giving you a 3sec cool-down even if you are deep in the red with heavy weapons.
So, TC + DC small mook in a pack of enemies + Warp it => BE kills it AoE to group, DC jumps to next enemy that you target with weapon using Warp ammo dealing double damage. In 3 seconds rinse and repeat.
You can take harrier for range plus your fav shotgun for close range and still cast BEs every 3 seconds.
