Nyreen's fate was completely and utterly unforgivable.

Oh, and btw, Nyreen died to 'save lives' you say?
That's cool, yeah, it's true to her character... unfortunately ALL the civilians were already dead when she blew herself up.

So those people who were talking how Nyreen saved their lives were dead? Zombies? Ok, my bad :P There are people behind Shepard (right side) who talk about Nyreen if you don't storm after Aria right away.

It brought a smile to my face. She was super annoying. Wish I could've done that to Liara

Are there any chunks of her left? Because you might be able to regrow her!

Nyreen represented an order, one that actually spoke and cared for the people of Omega, that was challenging Aria's ruthlessness and depravity. She was also Aria's main squeeze at one point. For her to die, it signifies a paradox for Aria: to continue in her ways of control, or to honor her friend's death?

I highly doubt Bioware put that much thought into it...

Nyreen's death was handled poorly more then anything.

Felt more like "Whelp, time to kill myself!" then a heroic sacrifice.

I agree.

When I saw her death I considered it to be worst and most pointless death in entire Mass Effect series.

It looked all to the bottom as a "forced" death and an excuse not to allow us to have her outside of the DLC as a squadmate.

I agree. This would require too much thought. And why write dialogue for a character and have them in a place when you can kill them off? It saves them the trouble of remembering to kill them off by twitter or e-mail later.

I don't like how they writing her off... nyreen die is expected for me but not like this.

it's not like victus who make his sacrifice mean something, nyreen die is more like her fault
to rush ahead without any back up.

shame that the first fem turian in mass effect is serve only a trigger for aria to go biotic rage.

I'm pretty sure the reason Nyreen was offed was to make the DLC self-contained. I mean, it's the same thing with aria and the couch.

The problem with DLC in general.

I actually liked how she went out. Then to see Aria go ballistic afterwards was awesome. It was nice to see Aria show that she cared for someone other than herself for once in her own way.

Wait

We can't even kill Aria and let Nyreen take over

We kinda just tell Aria "lul heres Omega back even though my squadmate got his squad killed trying to make this place a better place"

Bioware ****ed up when they said "No Collectors"

But to add insult to injury... she's not even mentioned in the end. Not even once. It's like Aria forgot she even existed.

Aria honors Nyreen by caring for the needs of Omega's civilians, something Aria isn't known to do.

You're probably right, however most "deeper meaning" beyond the surface stuff is most pieces of writing was probably hardly ever intended to be percieved as such.

Nyreen's fate was completely and utterly PREDICTABLE! I knew she wasn't going to make it. There was no way she was going to survive. The whole time I was waiting for her inevitable death. And of couse I was right.

How was it obvious and predictable? Honest question.

DLC is utterly detached. Nyreen had to be... taken care of in order to keep it that way.

Aside from Metagame reasons, I mean.

Nyreens death was never foreshadowed. It was contrived.

to be fair, it would've been a bit cliche'd if she'd survived in her little bubble after setting off an explosion like that.  you'd have people on here complaining about how hackneyed and unrealistic the scene was if she'd lived through it.

this is BSN... there can be no harmony or happiness.  all must BURN!

She has terminal cancer in her thorax anyway. It's probably a lot less painful this way.
