Why wouldn't an Infiltrator have shields?
Because she's a biotic.
Just cause she's an Asari doesn't mean she has the biotic training to use biotics offensively AND create a barrier to protect herself. Remember the Long Walk in ME2? Maybe she's just lazy and doesn't want the exerction along with both using powers offensively and focusing on weapons (since I can see her being used for Sniping/Biotic synergy)
So explain to me when I use her dodge, "biotic dash", she loses a portion of her... shields?
Anybody notice the asari huntress has shields... not barriers?

Really? I'm not able to play myself.. Um............... Aside from residual coding of races that presumably could not be removed... Is Space Magic still applicable? Balance, Story and Gameplay segregation? Biotics temporarily shorting out part of her shield as its centered around her body, as opposed to "throwing" biotics, which could be a similar effect as using Biotics to short out the enemy shields.
I'll admit, it's a little cheap, but hey, it's a reskin and be glad you don't have to buy three Starscreams in three different color schemes that never appear on the show, sometimes fans want toys to recreate scenes, sometimes we want to continue the narrative!
haha well said mate,

for an asari to use shields instead means that either the devs yet again tossed lore out the window or the huntress is a lazy asari that never bothered to work on her biotics.
Obviously, it's the prior as has been the norm with most new characters in classes they don't belong.
It's like the expanded star wars universe up in here. There's the lucas lore and the everything else lore. And with ME there's the SP lore and now a whole new universe of MP lore.
I'm guessing that's it's just too hard for the MP devs to spend all of 15 minutes reading. Even less if all you want is to know what the class structures are suppose to be...

Her "dash" creates a biotic field that momentarily affects her shields? I dunno, but that seems as good an answer as any.

Or that they are hard at work on ME4/another MP Dlc. Cut BW some slack. So they made an oversight with a few kits. These characters were only created to appease us until they can churn something else worthwhile out, anyway. With ME4 in development, I imagine the MP team has gotten a lot smaller.

sounds like she needs more training so that she doesn't hurt herself while dashing

I dont know what any of the classes are meant to be. Sentinels were biotic/tech characters, then tanks but the best tanks are Kroguards and the Armiger Turians. A soldier has charge. All the volus character can turn invisible, and they aren't infiltrators. Etc.

I would guess that the lore is in retcon and a sentinel is just a class that's failed at specializing at biotics or engineering(tech).
Since that can be any character, then a Sent. without any biotics or a Sent. with only weak biotics is possible.
I'm just waiting for a Vanguard that has no biotics and can't charge. Or a soldier that doesn't use weapons... oh wait, there is one now. But it's Geth, does that count?
Oh well, get me a non-vanguard vanguard and it'll be the trifecta...

Ah yes, the "it doesn't follow lore" argument. The MP board posters seem to love their lore.
How curious then, that nobody complained about how the Human Sentinel, who is obviously a biotic, has shields and the other numerous cases of Sentinels with biotics that don't have barriers.
Or perhaps it's not that people care about the lore as much as they claim, but rather that they just want to QQ about the devs?
Because apparently if you aren't hating on Bioware at every turn, you're an apologetic around here =P

Ok, I'm going to have to stop this straw logic. Right. Here.
"All asari are natural biotics, however some choose not to develop their biotic power. "
Taken directly from the wiki, and I'm pretty sure it's in the Codex too. Like I said, the Huntress seems like an Asari that uses biotics exclusively for offense, and even biotics are not strong like an Adept to be the whole offense so she adds in tech and weapon powers. Adding the strain of a barrier would be too much, or perhaps they're not skilled enough to create a strong barrier so they choose shields that they KNOW will protect them more. It's not being lazy, it's about not being shot in the head cause you chose inferior protection. (giggety)
And can I ask, honestly, if Asari using shields "breaks the lore", how did you cope with the Pre-EC ending?

Then go ask the Human Sentinels why they don't use Barriers, either.
The assumption that all biotics would be strong enough to also have barriers is exactly that, an assumption.
