Reckoning is coming

WE WILL BE READY.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
tl; dr : Want to join runs of 4 people playing the same class?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Videos of the runs which were recorded (and by the way, huge thanks to people who did record those runs)

Adepts :Human, DrellAsari Justicar, N7 Fury, Volus, KroganBatarian
Soldiers : Human, Krogan... almost, lost sentinel in the pack, Battlefield, Vorcha ,N7 Destroyer, GethQuarian
Engineers : Quarian Female, Salarian, Volus(1, 2
Sentinels : Turian, KroganBatarian, Vorcha, Asari
Infiltrators : Human, Salarian, Quarian Male
Vanguards : Human (against Gold collectors, crazy game!), Drellguard, Kroguard, PhoenixN7 Slayer

And compiled in one handy-dandy playlist by Holy Avenger : here

----------------------------------------------------------------------
OP :

How many Kroguards does it take to change a light bulb? 4, one to charge each wall, making the ceiling fall and letting the sunlight enter to be done with this puny "eelektrizitee" thing.

That one was easy, but it only brings other questions. How many Kroguards charges does it take to stun a preatorian? What's the average headbutt/second output of four Kroguards focusing fire on a Geth Prime?  Now, let's decline this further. Can 4 QMI play the most cheated hide and seek game ever, scanning all enemies while all being invisible? How many grenades / second can a team of four demolishers sustain? What does it take to down a team of four vol... (voluses? voli?) spamming constant shield boost? How many seconds can an atlas stand four Vorcha flamers? How long does it take for enemies to find you in the midst of four decoys? How enduring are 4 paladins in half circle with their backs to a wall?

Those are the questions I want answered.

And that's basically the long term challenge I'm fixing for myself, and for anyone who wants to join the fun : play all classes in  the game in four of a kind teams.

Obviously, this can only work with willing partners, so if people feel like joining me for such games, let's set up basic ground rules for organization.

Platform : PC

The very basis if it is not clear yet : a team of four people playing the same class. 4 Asari Justiciars. 4 Volus engineers. 4 Kroguards. 4 Drell vanguards (*cringe*). No restrictions on builds, or weapons but level 14+ characters mandatory (nothing looks more like a level 1 asari adept than a level 1 human soldier, the goal behind this restriction being that said class is levelled enough so that its own specialties are showing). If I can find voluntaries I may have some specific restricted challenges on some classes (like for example 4 hawk-missile destroyers or 4 Javelin-wielding sniper GIs) but those will be exceptions to be discussed at a later time.

classes will be decided on the fly in the lobby. I keep veto rights, for purpose of keep things mixed up and not burning through all funniest combinations first and then having to gouge out my eyes playing all my least favorite classes together near the end. Obviously, the classes available will be those which have not been played yet.

Games will be be mostly U/U/G and U/U/S depending on what the people wanting to join feel comfortable with. I've been lazy lately and have mostly been playing silver, but I'd like to get back to playing some more gold. Still, pure difficulty is not what I'm aiming for here, it's just a matter of keeping things interesting. (If you want me to put it this way, no, I won't be convinced to go U/U/P with 4 Drellguards. Heck, I would not go U/U/P with just me playing Drellguard :P)

I'm not going to make microphone mandatory, but the reason why I'm posting this here is also that it's a good excuse to meet other people here who share my vision of the silliness potential of such an endeavour. So at the very least expect to hear a blabbering French guy speaking heavily accented English.

Now, I'm not the most active player there is, but still tend to find around  4-5 hours on average to devote to ME 3 MP each week, and will have much more time during the Christmas holidays to ramp up the rythm. Basically, I'll try to have at least two 90 minutes sessions each week, most likely one on wednesday or thursday evenings, around 9-9:30pm, one on saturdays or sundays afternoons, around 3pm (GMT+1) which I'll announce in advance in this topic. If you want to join the fun, once a session is announced, declare yourself here, I'll add you to my friend list before the session starts, and will try to maintain turnover over the session and play with as many people as possible. In case of failure, we might go for another try with the same team, but with a different class.

At the end of these sessions, I'll come here to post which classes were played, how they fared, update the general progresssion, and make some free room on my friend list for the following sessions.

So, first things first, are there enough people interested to contribute to this project? And if there are, well, no reason why we couldn't be started with a first run this very week!

Damn, fast forums move fast, but then my bad for posting during the spike of activity around weekly update. Anyways, I belatedly realize that I had gone for the indigest wall of text approach, so shameless bump and tl; dr version.

Well, I'll admit I was expecting more answers :P

But alright, let's still try to get things started with a first session! First series of runs will take place this thursday, 11/29th, starting 9:30pm GMT+1!

If you want to join, post your OriginID here, and expect to see invitations coming on thursday. Given the relatively few answers, I'll update the topic when the runs start if people want to join live.

Come on, you know you want it. Think about it.Four Krogan vanguards. Four Geth engineers overloading enemies to oblivion while their 4 turrets setup fire explosions. 4 Turian soldiers and their revenants. 4 N7 Furies detonating 4 Biotic explosions at the same time. 4 QFI sabotaging 4 Geths.

Its not that the forums are "fast" by any means, its the fact that you posted more than a sentence on the internet.

My Origin ID is Djeckeraero

I'm not a fan of some kits though, so maybe we could pick a theme in advance? Turian Sentinels defend Condor? Krogan Soldier hold Tuchanka? N7 Paladins re-take London?

Sounds fun, I would like to join in, but you are 7 hours ahead of me. I will check back if I get out of work early enough.

Glad to see some people interested :)

When it comes to kits, the only real rule is basically "not something that has already been played", but that's also why I don't want to fix kits in advance too much, to be able to decide with people what they are interested in playing once they're here. I certainly don't plan to force anyone to play kits they don't like (but me :P), but at least for the first sessions where we will have a large choice, I think it will be easier to choose on the fly. That said, I do like the suggestion of given themes, and will give it a try for some future sessions.

If there are some kits you absolutely hate, feel free to announce in advance, I will take extra steps to avoid having you play those. That said, I think a team of 4 people with a class they are poor with can also make for very fun games, if a bit more chaotic :P

As for time zones, work and sleep gives me little margin on week days, but you're right, having evening sessions on week-end will mean afternoon for the American continent and may be easier. I'll see if I can alternate afternoon sessions which favor people in time zones ahead of me and evening sessions which favor people beyond mine.

Thanks for the returns :) I'll start adding people when I'm back home tonight, so everything is ready to go tomorrow :D

HolyAvenger, that would be fantastic! It mustn't become a hassle for you, but I certainly would love it if it's doable.

EDIT:
and obviously, huge thanks to you too chipsandwich!
Being able to share those runs certainly will be a huge bonus :)

Alright, first batch of invite sent, that's 6 of us confirmed, for this first run, plus possible extras depending on how long we keep running. Sounds good!

That will be around two groups rotating with a bit of overlap, so let's plan around 5 games for this first run, we'll adjust if new people are jumping in.

See you all tomorrow, and feel free to start thinking about the combinations you feel like trying!

Alright, so we should get started in about an hour and a half. As mentioned, we have the numbers to go with two groups (with a bit of overlap), mention here if you have time constraints and would prefer to be in the first or second batch. We'll keep this reasonably short for a first run, probably 2*2 matches, with bonus matches after with whoever still wants to stay.

I DO have a few dices ready here if people want to go full random ;)

I'm logged on Origin, I may not be in front of my PC for the whole time till the session starts but drop me a message there if you need to ge in touch (OriginID : MadGodji)

Recorded- 4 QMEs defend the pride of the Migrant Fleet on Ghost against Reapers (UUS). Then 4 Justicars hold London against Cerberus (UUG).

The latter has been shooting a missile into cover in front of my face lulz.
