Nice one. I ran a FQE on plat myself tonight, cryosploding build around the Acolyte, but I wasn't super happy with it.

Acolyte-cryoesplosion is definitely not the best build for her. Especially on platinum. Telling you just cause I learned it the hard way

At the moment I run a claymoar build reccomended by a friend on her, and I kinda enjoy her. Squishy with 0 fitness, but there's something particular about blasting things in the face with a claymore and at the same time stare at that jiggly bum bum

Uggh weapon focussed builds...gone right off them, as I mentioned in the other thread. Give me casters or give me death! I came last in terms of points, but I feel like I still put up a respectable performance with her with the cryosploding build especially given it was my first plat run with her. Any class can be good with a ClaymoarImage IPB

Well, her CDs are still good enough to spam cryo blast and incinerate around. You're always using a caster, you're just using a good gun on her

But anyway, the important thing is that you have fun with her. If that's with a Javelin+Claymore build, or with an Eagle, doesn't matter much ;)

I wanted to go Cryosplosion too, with a Falcon, that didn't prove too efficient. I'll probably go back to my trusty Viper + hurricane with her.

Thanks a lot for the videos uploads :D

I used a Locust, for precisely one reason - I'm working on SMG challenges currently. Worked well, it seems :D

After re-watching the gameplay I have a few comments about lessons I learned :)

Turian Sentinels. Really good class against, I think almost any enemy at any level. The overload does a great job of bringing down shields/barriers and controlling mobs of mooks. The debuffs from warp make most of the bosses melt pretty easily. I thought we did a good job of running through the reapers the first Gold match.

Female Quarian Engineer. I think Collectors was probably the worst enemy we could have gotten :) There is no real good way to bring down their barriers except by shooting (the SMGs worked real well here). And using cryo or incinerate on a barriered enemy was next to useless. I could only freeze troops who were down to their health, and maybe hope to TB with a follow-up incinerate but I think I only managed that combo a handful of times. Cryo works really well to debuff armor, so against Scions I felt pretty good and Praetorians when they were down to armor, but everything was a huge challenge for me. Since I couldn't kill them fast enough there was a near-constant stream of mooks shooting that took advantage every time i ducked down to avoid Scion grenades or Praetorian eye-lasers. I would shoot a captain in the head with the saber and watch only 1 or 2 ticks of barrier or health drop. I think yelling obscenities would have been more effective :) So i think what I may do is bring a light SMG and maybe sniper rifle if it's lighter than the saber.

MadGodji I think that's part of the reason the falcon cryosplosion didn't work well. Most of the enemies had barriers and it's really hard to freeze them first. Not, that it's part of this series, but I think if you had put a pair of sentinels or another engineer with Overload/Energy Drain (Salarian maybe) with a pair of FQEs that might actually work really well.

On another note, does the Praetorian actually have a headshot where headshot bonuses work? The scion goes down pretty quick if you shoot the backhumps first, then shoot in the face, but the Praetorian is just one big head with legs.

Praetorian has a weak spot on its belly. When it's damaged enough, it opens up, and husk heads get exposed. That's its equivalent of a headshot.
Collectors are seemingly still bugged so they take reduced damage from power combos.

Thanks a lot for the games!
First run was Human Adepts against Reapers on Rio. Slaughterhouse. Adepts tend to scale exponentially with each extra adept, and 4 human adepts meant everything was more always setup and ready to be detonated. 4 singularity also make for a fun barrier that most enemies can't go through (especially when we spam extra shockwaves into said singularities)
Second run was Quarian Marksmen against Geth on FB White (ZOMG, GETH FARMING!!) That was a U/U/G as games in this series tend to be, but with such a lucky draw,, well... 4 sabotages tend to make Geth trivial :D
We went for a third run, which was much more painful : 4 volus adepts, on Firebase COndor against Gold Reapers. Probably my worst game since we started the series personally :D I was happy being pretty useless, running away screaming while cloaked and spamming shield boost and just hoping the mean Reapers would just go away... which somehow they did, no thanks to me. But still, we prevailed!

So not in a hurry to play the Volus sentinel :P

P.S. : next session. Busy week-end for me, and I am a bit unsure I'll manage to have a session this week-end.

I'll tentatively say saturday, 4pm GMT+1, and will keep you informed, but that one may get cancelled.

Wait... Isn't that the way Voluses are supposed to be played?

Other than melee builds, of course!

Anyway, looking forward for the vids/next run! =]

It may sound paradoxical, but it was my first ever game with the vanilla human adept. Yeah, haven't touched this kit since the very start.

I still have a couple of people on my friend list who had manifested interest but that I never saw online at the time of the sessions, otherwise, hopefully I've been able to have most people join in a few games, so I'll start re-inviting some "old-timers" too (if I can call old timer people who were there less than three weeks ago :P)

Yeah the volus game was really a pain XD Condor is already a bad map and I just kept shield boost bugged and had to suicide multiple times =/

I'll start uploading the videos tomorrow morning :D

I was also shield boost bugged once. I run at a brute, it brought my shields down, then someone boosted my shields again, and everything returned to normal.

You should only have to heavy melee to clear the the boost bug, not suicide. On Volus just squat then hit F again to quick cancel.

Also Bhatair, if I ever end up playing with you guys again do you want me to record as well and send you along the footage somehow? What format and what resolution is perfered.

-Brasten, that crazy Volus engie who was spamming proxie mines like they were concessive shots from a few days back.

Gah I thought volus heavy melee didn't work to clear it like the others, oh well we still made it out alive XD

@Brasten, I'm not too sure, I've always recorded with fraps and then compressed the footage with an editing program. I suppose I could give it a go but the files would have to be super compressed for you to upload them and then me download them somewhere I think. I know raw footage with fraps can be massive (the quarian run which only took ~20 minutes at 1280x720 is 41GBs). I don't know too much about how file compression works though.

1280x720? I can do that. Don't know what software you use for editing but it should be able to take h.264 which is what I compress to almost right way after I'm done recording/playing. Drops it down to about 500 MB per miniature of footage, so 10 GB for an average 20 minitue match. Hum... I'll have to think of a good way to get you acess to it outside of just uploading chunks to YouTube and allowing download....

I just upload to youtube once they're compressed, though :P
For editing I use Corel Video studio, it's a bit pricey but not so much as the more complicated editing programs. Once I run them through Corel once I run them through Microsoft Expression Encoder as well just for the extra compression. The whole process turns one of those 40 GB files into ~800 - ~900MB.

Don't mean to double post but:

I'll get the others up over the next couple of days.

Man, I just record on MSI Afterburner- about 4 gig a game, and then convert to a youtube format using windows movie maker (400mb a match).

No muss, no fuss.

Thanks a lot for the effort everyone puts into recording those videos! I won't be ready for the session this afternoon, but I am going to get myself motivated and set up my machine so I can finally record games myself.

Oh, session this afternoon is confirmed, but be on time, I MUST leave by 6:00pm.

EDIT sorry for the little misshap trying to edit the first post, should be fixed by now.
