In fact, I applaud Nyreens sacrifice, as well as Dr Ann Bryson in Leviathan (potential). Why? Because it fits the ME3 theme about sacrifice and the DLC continues this theme.

Too bad that the majority of those sacrifices are utterly pointless.

What a structured and well thought out counterpoint.

3. Which brings me to what irritates me the most about the DLC; it's Aria's story from start to finish, not Shepard's story. What's the difference between this and Lair of the Shadow Broker, which is arguably Liara's story? Liara could not have accomplished what she did without Shepard. She needs the Normandy II to get in undetected. She needs Shepard's combat skills to make the assault successfully. And if Shepard wasn't present, the Shadow Broker would, with absolute certainty, have killed her with ease.

Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong... Wrong. If you import a file where you didn't do LotSB, Liara is still the SB in ME3. Only differences are that she got the info herself, and hired an entire platoon of mercs to take the SB's ship and defeat him. Shepard was not needed, he/she just made it easier.

Because the storyline assumes that at least two of the DLC plots- Lair and Arrival- were done. If Shepard's not around, it has to be someone- but in ME 2 Liara makes it pretty clear that nobody (except Shepard, and then only after getting the DLC) is up to the task.

I saw the Omega ad pop up on my X-Box live home screen and I went to the store to buy it. I didn't cause of the 2 gig size (was on netflix and didn't want to slow down the show), so I held off and checked out youtube and came here knowing there would be nothing but praise for the dlc (insert sarcasim).

After watching the youtube videos, reading reviews (elsewhere, not here) and reading the post here I have concluded that Omega is not worth getting, not until it is slashed in price, anyway.

Ashes and Levi added to the game. Granted what Levi added was more questions, but I felt it answered a few as well, as did Ashes. From what I can see Omega does nothing for the main story. Granted it gives you war assets, but that is nothing since I can get those assets in game on my own.

But the one thing that took Omega of the market for me, the main reason I won't get it until it is dirt cheap is the fact that once the dlc is completed Aria stays in Pergetory. Why would the high and mighty Queen of Omega stay on the citedal after Omega is retaken??? Why not take back Earth and live on Tuchunca(sp)? LoTSB Liara leaves Illium and gets based on the SB ship, but Aria stays on the Citedal? There is enough non-believable stuff in the game already, I don't want to add more.

So I will save my MS points for Dragonborn, thank you.

edit - it's a shame to, I was hyped to get Omega. How that has changed.

I mean, compared to Shadow broker.

Was it because it has bad story? (helping Liara to kill Shadow Broker is equally bad story),  too much fighting? (So instead of killing shadow broker agents,we kill Cerberus- seems pretty much the same to me) or minimum choices? Well exuse me, but Shadow broker had none, in Omega you have at least some.

Not to mention Omega took me more time than LoTSB, we get new weapons and mods and 2 new squad mates.
I dont really get why it is so worse according to some people.

Why ? :/

it isn't bad but it's overpriced. i was done with the whole thing in two hours and kept staring at the tv with this huge question mark on my face when it was done, like... "that's it?" in lotsb, you at least get the boss fight in the end to actually provide a sense of accomplishment. omega culminated into shooting a few troopers and engineers, like something straight off of multiplayer.

for $15, that was just nonsensical.

I agree on your thesis on DA2 but seriously do you own stocks of bioware?|
Cause in every DLC or game you suddenly come up and always say that <insert latest bioware title> is the best they ve done.
No it is not. It is great to be a loyal fan of boware i am too but at some point you personally are hurting them with your attitude. Praising everything only makes Bioware look worse and worse. If they give credit to your posts then the rest of us are screwed. I do not want to be offensive at all.
Have not played omega and i certainly won't after all these facts i read in here.
Aria still on CItadel?
NO omega 4 relay or Collectro's Whereas Mp incorporated them?
Cerberus AGAIN?
just how many humans are there ??? Cerberus is everywhere!!!
Aria's couch?
SHOOTING??? autodialogue again?
More action less story?
Double the price for HALF the story?
No gavorn? No shisshk?
NO ME2 resolution to omega's sidequests such as Ish, patriarch, datapad and others?
I really wonder how they added the mad prophet at all

I have no idea as I personally LOVED it; but then again I also LOVED Mass Effect: Invasion [& Mass Effect 3] and imo they are so much better experienced together, e.g. anybody complaining about Petrovsky's lack of characterization clearly skipped over the first part of a two part story.

Anyone complaining about the dialogue, the score or the gameplay either didn't play it (1), hasn't played ME3 since march (2), is a total snob stuck in 1997-2005 (3) or all of the above.

in my opinion irrespective of price it's the best Mass Effect DLC yet and I don't see how you can argue it... at this point it's like what more could you ask for short of a brand new hubworld?

Could it have been longer?... sure but any idot who rushed through it in less than 2 hrs only has themselves to blame. I took my sweet time got my 3.5hrs out of it and i'm going to do a renegade playthrough later today so i'm definately going to get my money's worth.

It all comes down to to having realistic expectations and perception of value: $15.00 or rather £8.99 in M$ points to me is fair value for what it is... a meal at a fast-food restuarant or a crappy chart CD.

My biggest gripe is that it's completely disjointed from the rest of the game. Nobody on the Normandy has anything to say AT ALL. It would have been awesome to take some of my crew along and hear their thoughts on everything, but no, you can't. And you are unable keep either of the new squad mates. And there's no going back to visit Omega after the fact. It's almost like it didn't happen. Like a weekend in Vegas. I did get an awesome souvenir (I LOVE Flare as my new bonus power), but as a whole, this is like the first 'Mass Effect' DLC EVER that I won't be taking more than one of my Sheps through.

I thought about wanting to revist Omega afterwards but really what would be the point? You might as well just replay it and have something to do while you're there.

NOSTALGIA. Heh. I think it would have been nice to have another hub world. Having  only the Citadel does get boring.

I wanted to go back to Afterlife and see Aria on her couch again. Image IPB Ack, Purgatory is going to suck without her there to look after Shep when she gets drunk.

I like it, and I've not even played it yet, all I know about it (after foolishly looking at these forums) is that a character called Nyreen dies.

I like it cos... er.. well.. cos it's more Mass Effect aint it?

I'm so soft, I'd probably buy a DLC of Shepard standing around in his underpants* for 20 minutes reciting poetry if it were ever released, cos.. it's more Mass Effect aint it?

(*apologies to any Femsheps - they can stand around in their knickers if they so desire).

I think everybody was expecting it to be a hubworld after the forum [datamining] leak and it was kind of half-way there with the secondary objectives like Harrot's quest, etc.

They might add more quests and possibly even new areas to the Citadel if they do more DLC which would add some more variety which would be nice but there is plenty on Omega to explore dispite how linear it is.

I implore you to read Aria's Mass Effect: Invasion comic series before hand if you haven't already done so because you'll get much more out of it imo otherwise you'll miss a few interesting details and Petrovsky will just be some random guy to you. A common mistake around these parts.

Thanks for that. I just got myself one of those fancy new Kindle Fire devices, and was thinking about getting the ME novels as my first book purchase. Presumably the comics are also available?

((on an unrelated note, I hope to get ME Infiltrator, but apparently it's not available for Kindle Fire, as the device can't access the Google app store due to it being a competitor, Grrrrrrr!))

Completely agree with you on this.  I'm assuming they didn't want to remove Aria from Purgatory because that would interfere with players who didn't complete her Citadel mission yet, but then why not make Omega a hub world - even if it's just the areas that are opened in the DLC because "oh, well, we still need to clean out the bodies in the other areas...or, ya know, reasons!"?    And if this was entirely impossible, as it seems to be the case, then I'd rather she just be permanently removed from the Citadel and I can just assume she's on Omega and that my actions accomplished something.

Meh. I don't hate it.

It just didn't tie into the story at all. Never gets mentioned. It's like Shepard took a three hour break in the middle of the war to do something totally irrelevant.

It's the same issue I said beforehand. A lot of people just aren't interested unless it moves the series forward. This doesn't.

There wasn't really much dialoque... it was very limited for 15$ dlc.

The design of the levels was very good but what use do we have for beautifull enviroment if we can't even revisit it... I would LOVE to go, to the Afterlife in ME3 and hear again nice music.

Also it lacked impact. You just kicked around some cerberus and the big boss just...surrenders? Also no big revelations like: David in Overlord, Identity of Shadow Broker or Leviathans... nothing spectacular. The ending of the DLC was well known before finishing it. Story wasn't very original...it was plain and boring.

Bioware could at least add more humour to it but sadly the didn't. It's not worth 15$... 10$ okay but not 15$
