Because mass effect 3 did not have a happy simple ending that they could understand so they hate everything now without reason.

This.
Theres no doubt in my mind that if those endings were changed nobody would care about all the flaws in the DLCs.
EC got flammed.
Leviathan got flammed.
and now Omega is getting flammed. It's going to keep on going this route.

This the comments in the youtube comment section for the vidio was filled with people complaining about the ending

Maybe they're complaing about all those things because they are actual crap? Who woulda thunk it.

Yep calling it COD in space and then other fans trying to argue get smashed with and this actully happend to me from people who had not got omega

"dip*hit COD fanboy i hope you enjoy your teriible game while us true fans remember what quality is"

then i said i hated COD and got no reply Image IPB

Well they couldn't be more wrong.  That's just silly!

It's not COD is space...it's Gears.  :D

No, it's really not. Gears never really got this good, not even when it was dealing with dom trying to find his wife.

Let me just ask, did you ever actually play gears? Like actually sit down and play the game, all the way through from start to finish? and if so, which games?

I enjoyed Omega. Two issues that I cannot ignore however:

1 - The music issue. The absence of it, and the abrupt ending of it at certain scenes.

2 - The price. Worth 10 dollars, but not really 15 imo. I don't regret spending it, but ultimately the entire experience doesn't entirely seem 15$$$ worthy

Why? Because of jaded Mass Effect fans infesting this board with their drivel. That's pretty much the reason.

Pretty much this.

These same people have been begging for an Omega DLC for months. Now that they have it, they hate it because it isn't exactly how they wanted it.

Typical behavior.

Honestly, no, never have.  Being a pc player, I could only play the first one, and I don't have much interest in it.

I just know that the combat cover mechanics look like they're cloned from Gears from what I've seen, and they added Shepard rolling in ME3, which was just a further evolution of them copying the mechanics, afaik.   From the little I've seen, they look nearly identical except for casting powers.

Because right now people are pretty much looking for anything to get outraged about to sustain their waning butthurt over something that happened an entire nine months ago.

That is the most disturbing is that dramatical change of the DLC format from ME2 to ME3, i would spend hours upon hours doing the ME2 DLC, they gave the player conclusion and satesfaction, unlike the ME3 ones that just produces more questions and just makes the player frustated and angry

800 MS points is the proper price. I am angry because I wasted 400 points.

I played all three, and ME3 is leagues better than gears in both combat and story. All the controls in gears feel heavy and clunky, while in ME3 it's smooth, shepard is like the flash comapred to marcus fenix, and the powers add a lot more strategy to the table than just find a spot to camp and blast away.

And gameplay improvements do not mean the story of ME3 is somehow copying gears, which is what I saw implied by your comparison. The omega story is one that I enjoyed becaseu it is a good ME dlc, like BDTS, Stolen memories, and overlord.

It has action yes, but a lot of story is placed within the action as well if you actually look. There's a lot of glimpses into aria's and nyreens characters that gears does not do outside of dom and cole, and even than only briefly. Besides, the choices shepard makes actually affects how aria is, making her become more of a renegon than a full renegade if you side with nyreen. While gears has mostly just swearing and john demaggio yelling holdng it a float throughout the whole thing.

I would say that it's because the **** sandwich that was ME3 embittered and alienated so many people to such a degree that they will now latch to literally anything that will help them tearing down something that they once loved so much. Hell hath no fury and all that jazz.

If ME3 wasn't such a profoundly unsatisfying experience for so many (former) fans, many of the flaws being listed here, not all, but a good portion, would've been overlooked, I think, but as the things stand now, they're getting torn apart. BioWare has noone to blame for that but themselves, btw.

Personally, I just don't care. I'm well and truly done with the single player campaign and have not touched it since EC. It's fascinating though to watch the vicious circle of rage unfold with every news announcement from BioWare. They have indeed managed to utterly and irrevocably destroy all the goodwill of their most loyal fanbase in one fell swoop. Quite a feat, that.

No, I was kidding, and used Gears because of the combat mechanics.

Oh, sorry. I have run into a lot of people who insist that the story is actually gears in space and mistook you for one of them.

I'm sorry about that.

I like Omega.
I feel the price tag and the amount of content for it is not OK, not one bit.
We were promised tons of content, a really big DLC for the increased price. We didn't get it.

or that their idiots who want to whine about everything....idiots who believe Bioware can do no right, when they believed they used to do no wrong.

Face it, Biowares success in the past came from lazy recycling of their plots and stories, with DAO being the worst offender. Once Bioware broke away from their formula and tried something new....its bad storytelling they say.

Bioware's old formula is simply flawed....characters used as talking codex entires not much important to plot outside leads, contrived storytelling, formula recycling, one or two dimensional characters outside a few, and more. Don't act like they are flawless, and really the final version of KOTOR II smacks the first KOTOR around in how to handle plot and characters.

LoTSB is over rated. It is a very cool dlc and side story, but not the "ultimate dlc" many here tend to claim it is (especially not for the Broker ship hub... I enjoyed a few elements of it, but there was nothing special in reading about different characters personal lives to me).

Omega is just fine, but its price tag is a bit too high. It worths 10 bucks, but not 15. Not that I complain for spending the price of another package of cigarettes on it.

Are you implying that only people who post on this forum are 'loyal fans'? If so then I must repeat my earlier question and ask on what basis are you making such a claim?

Bioware's appeal was never in their main stories but the universe and characters they created.

What you call cliche and contrived I see as stories and ideas that have stood the test of time.

When you deviate from the norm and take risks there is an upside and a downside. Deal with it.

Omega > LotSB

Seriously, the first half, the Illum section of that DLC is great, but the Broker Ship section drags so much.

Overlord is still the best ME DLC.
