1. Flemeth...she kinda left us hangin on top of a mountain.
2.Tallis...because I am a huge Tallis fan and I miss her sense of humor.

3. Alistair...you know, if you didn't send him to his death against the archdemon. Even if you did exile him, he would still come back. One can only hope.

4. Cullen...his background and character are unique.

5. Morrigan...we need some closure.

2. Aveline
3. Isabela
4. Tallis

1. Alistair and/or Anora; either as sole ruler of Ferelden, as a royal couple, or in any possible role they could fill as non-royals (e.g. Alistair as a bitter drunk, Alistair as just a Grey Warden, Anora in a new role such as ambassador to Orlais)
2. The Crazy Hermit from the Brecelian Forest in Dragon Age: Origins (assuming the Warden didn't kill him, of course)
3. Varric Tethras as an NPC, not as a companion though
4. Tallis, because she's a fun character and Felicia Day puts a lot of enthusiasm into playing her; not as a companion
5. Sigrun, possibly as an optional companion since she can die if the Warden Commander chooses to side with the Architect while she's present to witness the making of that alliance

I'll add a 6th since it hinges upon said character's survival in the first game: Loghain. It would be fun to see him in some throwaway cameo, complaining loudly about being forced to visit Orlais on official Warden business (like recruitment, for example).

Party pooper.

I guess my personal wish-list, considering my main playthrough, would be this.

Loghain
Zevran
Flemeth
Connor
Charade

Flemeth is straightforward, as she is the glue that is kinda keeping the flowing narrative in place at the moment. Loghain is a personal choice because I want to see his growth as a character, if any at all. Zevran was perhaps my favorite companion in the games, and his side story is very interesting in it's own right so far. Charade is there mostly because she has potential as a character, and Connor because I want to see him as a young man whose now a confident mage, or abomination. Either works, although I never once struck a deal with the devil.

Then again, several of these pics hinge on them all being alive....hopefully they are.

1. Warden Commander Oghren: Greyed, wizened, and hard as stone, the Warden Commander of the Keep now exudes confidence and authority instead of self pity and booze...but still manages to crack the odd dirty joke.

2. Ser Guilmore: Still wracked with guilt for surviving the siege of Highever, Guilmore has become a sell sword, drawn to lopsided conflicts he should never survive but always does, in spite of the odds.

3. Charade: Tracking down her father's treasure awakened her inner treasure hunter. Now she criss crosses Thedas hunting down ancient lore and artifacts, seeking not the items themselves, but the adventure in their recovery.

4. Velanna: Velanna has sworn an oath of peace, in the memory of a former Templar. He sustained mortal wounds defending mage and elf children from a darkspawn raid when Velanna happened upon him. She poured herself into learning healing magics and kept him alive for months...long enough for her to fall deeply in love with him and for him ask as his dying wish that all she learned attempting to save him she use to save others.

5. Varric: Chest Hair.

The storyline concerning Morrigan and the Eluvian definitely needs closure; I suspect Morrigan survives even if she's stabbed before passing through the mirror. The OGB needs to be addressed as well, although that one is a bit more complicated because of the variables involved. It also felt as though whatever lay in that plane beyond the Fade was significant and will hopefully be touched upon once more in Dragon Age III or another sequel.

Witch Hunt was likely all the closure our Warden characters will ever get, but that doesn't mean BioWare should just abandon Morrigan's storyline and never do anything with it again.

But that takes all the fun out of Oghren. Yes, I know, character development and all that...

Your description suggests an Oghren who is much, much older than the one we saw in Origins/ Awakening. Dragon Age II only covers a seven-year period. He wouldn't have aged that much, unless you're suggesting he appear as described in a sequel beyond DA3.

I think  we can count on Flemeth showing up again. That's why I didn't include her on my own list.

He was no spring chicken in those games. That along with being a Warden (the darkspawn taint ages them prematurely, I think) and the responsiblity of leadership accelerate his aging process. Plus we've no idea how long a span of time DA3 with take place in or even when. Perhaps it start years into the mage templar conflict covers an much longer span than DAII.

edit: Also Oghren becoming a badass doesn't neccessarily mean he won't be fun. It just means he'll crack jokes more often than be the but of them.

1.Morrigan-Want to know more of her story and what she is really after.

2.The Warden-this ties in with Morrigan and just was a fun and important character.

3.Flemeth-It just feels like we know nothing of her and I want to know her true game here, her and Morrigan are very well made characters, love them.

4.Varric- Just a very well made character, funny but smart character. He reminds me of Kurt Russel in Big Trouble Little China. lol.

5.Hawke-Just like The Warden, want to see him/her again. I would like to see The Warden and Hawke team up in a dlc or game. I really would dig that.

Shortens lifespans definitely. Ages prematurely, not so sure. Duncan didn't look that old and he was near the end of his "thirty-years left to live" and "not having to worry about growing old" Grey Warden deal.

I know right?! And I can just imagine Uncle Gamlen in tow, at once greedily eyeing the loot and protectively griping at Charade every step of the way.

For a combination of dramatic purposes and promising opportunities for character development, and in no particular order:

1. Leliana (to resolve reasons for reappearance at the end of DA2.)
2. Flemeth (obvious reasons)
3. Morrigan (Dark Ritual resolution/explanation, whether it was performed or not)
4. Connor or Feynriel (or both, in order to see what comes of them)
5. Bhelen/Harrowmont (depending on who is king, to see how they interact with possible Kal Sharok plotline in DA3)

And, as a bonus some more Alistair/Anora for good measure. And Loghain.

1. The Grand Oak
I dunno, I much preferred the tree to the Mad Hermit. Although it seems more plausible for a human mage to make a return appearance than a talking oak tree. :P

2. Cullen
It's almost obligatory that he return at this point, considering his involvement in the last two games.

3. Flemeth
What's a DA game without her?

4. Emile de Launcet
He's adorable, in a pathetic and endearing sort of way.

5. Serendipity (+ Seneschal Bran)
For the lulz.
