Top 5 People You Would Want To See In DA3

Cole
Morrigan/Flemeth/OGB (any one of these could clarify what's going on with the others)
Evangeline
Sandal
Corypheus
For "I liked this character, want to see more of them" reasons
Sten
Morrigan
Warden and/or Hawke (being able to import one of my old characters as a party companion would be one of the coolest things I've seen in a video game)
Merril
Varric
There's a lot of potential banter between companions from DAO and DA2 that I'd like to hear, so bringing back a few from each game as companions would be great. Fenris and Morrigan, Sten and Merril, Varric or Isabella and... pretty much anybody?

For real though, I want as party members:
* Evangeline
* Rhys
* Varric
* Cullen
* Cassandra
And then a few more besides. I want these guys because they would only come together if my plot idea is what they go with. That being, the Inquisition is a new institution that will bring together moderates from the two sides to end the mage/Templar war and then bring others together to also deal with the hidden forces behind the scenes that got the rest of the world in a uproar too. And all that.

2. Justin Bieber
3. Flo from the insurance advertisements
4. All the skinny models from the ads that say 'you can have it all'.
5. That super smug guy on tv whose name is eluding me.
I want them all to be villagers in a hamlet that is in dire straits and needs rescuing from the impending evil that will be befall them if they are not saved.

1. Leliana - The end of Dragon Age 2 and also she is looking for Warden makes her a great character to be involved in trying to save the Chantry.
2. Flemeth - I would like to know more what is going on with her personal war with Morrigan (Regarless of your choice I believe Morrigan was seen pregnant.
3. Alistair - If he is alive I think it would be interesting to have him in some meaningful capacity,
4. Warden - I really want to know more what happened with him.
5. Morrigan - Maybe this is a little selfish, but I like more the narrating and the story in DAO than DAII, I felt it had a deeper story and there was a moving of a larger plot in DAII it felt like a chapter but the bigger plot was barely moving.

I would rather have all new interesting and developed characters than caricatures of characters that were once fleshed out. Cameo characters become running jokes/ references.

Nobody. As much as I loved certain characters, I think when bioware quotes or cameos characters from previous games it almost always is pointless and cheesy. The swooping is bad line was funny in the first game because of the scene and the way it was delivered. Just because fans liked it doesn't mean it should have been turned into a catch phrase. Same with Kirahe and "hold the line" Mordin and his singing, Isolde's "who is this MAN Teagan?" etc...

I agree with this post a lot.
That said though, there are certain characters like Flemeth, Bodahn and Sandal that do make sense to show up again.
The one character (besides the ones I mentioned above) who I really feel needs to show up again is Morrigan. It seems pretty clear to me that after Witch Hunt, at least the way I played it, her story is not done yet. But I don't want her to make a reappearance unless it really makes sense, and they can make it a big deal. It shouldn't be forced in the name of closure, and it shouldn't be a quick cameo where she explains a little bit about what she's been up to and leaves. If that means she's not going to show up in DA3, that's fine with me.

I want to see him run the Wardens Dr Cox-style, with a young Orlesian warden that sees him as a mentor but Loghain wants no business with that.
Gregoir & Irving
I wonder what became of those two when the circles revolted
Sigrun
I really liked her. For once the dwarf wasn't a drunken swear-machine.
Kingistair, Drunkistair or Wardistair
Flemeth
obvious reasons

Mentioned together because I suspect a link between the first two ("the old lady is scary" and more) and the last two always travel together. (Would be interesting to see Sandal without Bodahn though.)
Morrigan.
Her story still feels largely untold. Even with the potential endings in Witch Hunt, staff have made it clear 'attempting to kill' and 'successfully killing' are not the same - not a guarantee, but an implication of further plans.
Oghren.
I love this bastard.
Varric.
Perhaps in an NPC role rather than as a party member, though that might mean Oghren and Varric wouldn't meant. I'd like to see the conversation between a discrete sophisticate... and Varric.
Pyral Harrowmont/Behlen Aeducan
Orzammar is close to Orlais (practically within its borders).It'd be interesting to see how Orzammar is fairing since DAO.
