The Huntress cloak is broken and not giving its weapon damage boost *sigh*

I'm not a game-design expert by any means, but BW's post-launch support of this "tacked on" MP is certainly remarkable. There are bugs like this in any game, ever made. Cry like a baby if you want, but it won't change how long it takes them to fix it. Most devs say "ehhh, deal wit it."
Also crying about the weekly releases was sooo 6 weeks ago. The adults have gotten over it.
LOL at the people already saying the class sucks. Predictable.

Seeing as they haven't commented on the issue once, assuming they will fix it next Tuesday is laughably optimistic.

Assumptions are dangerous. Especially since it's been proven in the past that not everything can be fixed with a Weekly Balance Change. The problem with the Vorchaneer having the wrong damage stats was fixed in a balance update, but that was still the correct stats (at the time) being applied overall. Whereas this situation with the Huntress is a bug where a power stat is not being applied at all. That is what the problem was with the Krogan's Rage power, and that required an actual patch.
Until we hear a response from Bioware, we don't know if a balance update can/will fix this.

Vorcha Engineer bit was different. Since each DLC has to be able to stand on its own, they had to include a second version of Submmission Net for characters from this DLC. They just missed changing the server-side values for that skill to be the same as the Batarian's.Me1mN0t wrote...

Tactical Cloak is an entirely different power. It's pretty unlikely that they'll be able to tweak a few server-side values for this kind of change, because there's no value stored for what is and isn't boosted by tactical cloak. I'm 90% sure that they won't be able to fix this server-side, and that this power is going to remain broken until there's a patch.
So really, why would a simple "We've acknowledged the problem, we're working on it" be such a problem? Vorcha Engineer's submission net was responded to quickly. Wish they'd at least say SOMETHING here.

Folks have considered it, but I think most of us just figure that that can't have realistically been the intention. The damage applies to melee and powers, just not weapons. With a weapon damage boost, she could be very, very effective. There might be ways to make her effective now, but she's several levels below every other infiltrator.etm125 wrote...
Skimmed through the responses here. have we considered it is in fact intentional and what they flubbed is the tooltip description? What if she will never be changed?

soooo....she should play just like everyother Infiltrator....even though she has the best power bonuses available at this point?
TBH...im glad...cuz now she is just as distinct in this class as the Shadow is.
if i was concerned about weapon bonuses i would go ahead and play one of the other infiltrators.
but yeah...If BW said something...it would stop all these damned "GLITCH" threads....leaving us with "WAHH TC no give weapon bonus" threads.
just my opinion of course

No, she should just be useful. None of her skills are even the kinds of powers that do good damage. There are better options if you want biotic powers that exist primarily as damage boosters.corporal doody wrote...

No, the Shadow is effective, and the only thing about the Shadow that doesn't work is Shadow Strike against Atlases.corporal doody wrote...

Good for you, I guess? I don't like the idea of any class in the game actually being genuinely bad. I'd rather have more useful options, because useful things end up getting used. Useless things generally don't.corporal doody wrote...

I don't have time to read the 15 pages so I'm not sure if someone mentioned this. My first thought when I saw this class was, "holy crap, cloak damage boost with biotic explosions?" I feel like the biotic explosion doesn't receive any help from the cloak damage. I cloak, use dark channel, remain in cloak due to evolution 6, break cloak by casting warp, and the biotic explosion was crap. If I recall correctly, I did it on a centurion on gold and I think it still had over half health left. Maybe I'm missing some detail that explains this lol.
Biotic explosions are not affected by power damage increase(not even those in the passive),only by the rank of the two powers.
All it does is to increase the damage of powers like warp. Thats it.
But Dark Channel boosted with cloak destroys phantoms very fast. Its not even necessary to shoot them after cast it on them.

This is what I fail to understand.
As far as infiltrators go, she has the most potent powers. Warp is powerful and has DoT, while DC even more so. You aren't going for BEs so much as raw DPS via DoT. There's already been a value test by one of the users here (I wish I knew where it was so I could link it) that determined that not only was TC properly increasing power damage, but that it increased the DoT damage throughout the duration regardless of how long the player stays cloaked, so long as it isn't interrupted by a BE.
So, she's got two of the strongest biotic powers in the game. She can keep bosses' barriers/shields from regenerating. She does damage to things she may not have even looked at via DC. She gets a power bonus for TC, thus making these powers even more potent, and, you know, it's TC, for revives/objectives/etc. And you don't ever have to spec DC/Warp for recharge speed because TC will negate any issues with that, meaning she can cast nearly as quickly as the basic Asari Adept while carrying a Widow.
I may not be getting a weapon damage bonus, but I'm killing a whole lot of ****. I've yet to not top the scoreboard on Gold so far since she's been released.
