The Huntress cloak is broken and not giving its weapon damage boost *sigh*

And right now, she really is UP. Other classes have both damage output AND the utility of TC. I don't understand folks who don't see her as supremely underwhelming. People praising DC confuse me, because I'm pretty sure that every single weapon, even before being boosted by any passives, has a stronger DPS than Dark Channel does boosted by all Asari passives and TC. Any weapon boosted by the same TC (+80%) will be significantly better for damage output, it seems.
To folks saying they do really well with her, can you at least bother to explain your playstyle, and maybe why you think it's effective?

Yeah it doesn't seem like changing values in a balance change would fix this. Don't know for sure though.

You're actually allowed to fire your weapon at the same time that Dark Channel is active.

6 / 6 / 6 / 4 / 4 and Indra X, a light sniper rifle for small cooldowns, I am enjoying the class, seems very effective to me. Perhaps not the best infiltrator but a different take on the class, something always welcomed.Zero132132 wrote...

Well what I do isn't anything special. My build. I usually use L4 ammo with her so keep that in mind. Anyway, I Cloak->DC. Anything below a boss should be dead pretty quickly. But you can hang around and pop off a BE with a Cloak->Warp or hang around to shoot the mob.
Since DC & Warp are both DoT effects, you'll find you'll get credit for kills right there. Especially since they are fired from cloak. So what I do is make sure all the nearby mobs are seeded with either a DC or Warp. Plus if there are any adepts, etc aroudn you'll get credit for the BE.
With the average random team you should be able to easily top the scoreboard. This character just really suits my playstyle since I do not like getting super close to bosses / phantoms. With the Asari Inf I can just put a DoT on a big target (Cloak->DC) and go warp->shoot everything else
Very easy class to play as long as you realize she does great dmg with a Cloak->power. Also, just keep in mind Dark Channel 'jumps' to other targets. So a well placed DC can net you some kills. Don't babysit the DC. You just place on a clump of mobs and go kill the unaffected ones

The Asari Vanguard can do much more damage by charging and then Jenny Finch'ing four grenades than a fully spec'd TC + Dark Channel can do during it's full duration.

Yeah, hence the bolded. I guess I didn't word it the way it was in my head. Since any weapon has better damage output at its base than DC boosted as far as it can possibly be with TC, an 80% boost to weapons damage will almost always be better than DC boosted and then unboosted weapons damage. The boosted damage is less consistent, but with anything but the common weapons, the disparity grows very substantially.CmnDwnWrkn wrote...

The one thing I liked when I played her is that if you break TC immediately, you can carry weapons as heavy as you like into battle, so even though she's worse at being an adept than any other adept (IMO) and worse at being an infiltrator than any other infiltrator (IMO), you can still throw on a Claymore and Javelin if you want, so long as you always cloak and immediately fire off a power to decloak rather than letting cloak go on or firing a power normally.

True, but AV will probably die a lot more since she's fighting close quarters and lift grenades will eventually run out (of course you can just make rounds to ammo crates, pack Grenade Capacity V, and use ammo gear but you know what I mean). Plus the AV requires lots of babysitting (like most characters). You have to actively fight the Geth Prime (good luck!).
The Asari Infiltrator can just place some DoTs on a boss. You can kite while doing some dmg. You can fire off a Cloak->warp and then follow up with some smg rounds.
She's an awesome clutch machine. Not saying she's superior or anything. But she can do somethings much easier than other characters due the ability to laydown some strong DoTs. I am safely executing bosses while in cloak

Cloak, DC something, then DC something else. By the next Cloak cycle you can detonate with a warp or 2 or, if someone already has, start priming another group. You can do this all safely far away from enemies and mostly invisible. Between that and Asari dodge I don't think I dropped more than once in multiple Golds.
Did well in gold using this setup. Finished top 2 in both games, over 100k points. It was randomly vs Reapers both times, might not work so well vs Collectors. Used a Paladin VII with warp ammo, Commando gear.

i dont think it's broken...reason being: i just looked at the other infils, and the last evo choice for them specify a certain weapon damage bonus....while on her, it just says power damage...which would explain why it gives a bonus to powers and not weapons (which has been confirmed)...as much as people dont wanna accept it, even though she is an infil, weapons on her are secondary...
Quoting since this is being ignored and it seems to make sense.

That isn't the issue. The issue is that fact that the base and evo 4 weapon damage boosts aren't working either.

You can play as an Infiltrator with Biotics, or as a Biotic with cloak. I chose the latter. TC specced for duration and bonus power.

Why Dc twice? It makes no sense. only one DC cast can be active and it lasts 30 seconds. if you take bonus power evo, you should DC then warp from cloak.

wrong...just wrong
on every other infltrator, cloak bonus applies to EVERYTHING used from cloak
powers, grenades, melee, weapons they ALL get a bonus (40% minimum or 80% if damage chosen over duration + power tree evo6 bonus)
this is the ONLY class that excludes weapon damage

Yes. If only power damage worked, I might buy into the "it's intentional!" ****, but melee damage doesn't make sense if you're claiming it's meant for biotics specifically.Phoenix535 wrote...

Still no dev response. I'm annoyed, because I'm pretty sure they've SEEN this. They've responded to other stuff. I'm guessing they're not allowed to give a response until they assess the problem and have some notion of how a fix will work.

i understand that...what i'm saying is that it not working could be on purpose to make people play her differently than other infils....for the most part, powers are secondary to weapons on the other infils...maybe in this case, they want the opposite...
not saying that's the case, just stating my opinion on it...if i'm incorrect when an answer is given, i have no problem saying so...

I am genuinely surprised at peoples' surprise in BioWare not responding to this immediately. I just assumed it was common knowledge that BioWare is, at best, inconsistent in responding to game bugs. There have been many bugs in this game which it took them many months to respond to and fix. Some have never received a response and are still in the game. I'm not sure why people still expect a prompt and complete response to issues from BioWare. Based on past behavior, this just isn't realistic.
They have responded and acknowledged most (all?) of the other bugs with these once a week kits (extra Character cards, subnet, walking speed). The total silence on this one does seem out of place on how they have been responding to issues that have come up with the once a week releases.
I agree that for a couple weeks they did appear more responsive than on average. Is that enough to make people forget how unresponsive they've been to issues in the past?
Also, the Blade Armor bug got a token "we'll look into it" response, followed by nothing more. Would you prefer this to nothing at all?
Actually, yeah. It may well never get fixed it it's going to take a patch. But I would rather know that's the case, than wonder.

Same here. Unfortunately, if they're aware of an issue but don't plan to fix it anytime soon (or are unable to), their standard practice seems to be to the ignore the issue rather than say, "We're aware of this issue, and we apologize for it, but don't have plans to fix it in the near future."
