I'm not even sure how I feel about D1DLC just yet, it really depends on how it's handled and what it is, I guess it's a yes that it will have it. Most companies seem to do it now.

Its impossible to have a rational and mature discussion about DLC, because all of the detractors just shove their fingers in their ears and scream, "LALALALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU" when you point out the actual facts behind DLC.

day one dlc is fine if it is not story releated. if its a character appearence pack or a weapon pack or something I am fine with that.

If it is a story element (looking at you From Ashes) - it is a sin to use this as DLC.

Agreed, with one exsception.

If it's a "free with new purchase" DLC to combat piracy, I have no problem with it.

But yeah, paid Day one story DLC is otherwise just tacky. It puts out the image of a "greedy corporation".  Whether or not that's actually the case, it just plain looks bad.

For me day 1 dlc is ok as long as we are getting the game printed on CD:s.

The game has to be finished for printing at some point prior to release. And then the CD:s have to be shipped. The studio and everyone are still up and running working with the game but can put it into the main product. It's a perfect time to make more material before people are assigned to new projects. If it allows us to see something that otherwise would have been cut it is great.

However, the day when there is no more need for the game to be finished prior to release due to printing and shipping. The day when it is all digital. Then I will be much less happy about it.

Yup. Rewards for buying new is fine, provided it is a reward and not "online pass" code rubbish.

I differentiate the two simply because any thing that features heavily in the marketing should be in all copies of the game.

Shale never was in the marketing a great deal.

The entire game will be Day 1 dlc. You will have to purchase the disc at the store, then pay another 10$ to unlock the game.

And as a bonus for unlocking the game they'll throw in an extra companion who will have no tangible impact on the story, though people will still cry about how he's important and should have been in the main game.
:innocent:

People exaggerate the effect Javik has on ME3.  I played my last ME3 game with not going to Eden Prime untill after Thessia.  He absense changed nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  Javik is strictly cool factor.

You could say the same for Garrus and Tali.  Them being dead hardly changes anything in the overall game.

That doesn't make them insignificant characters.

Zaeed was insignificant.  Outside his loyalty missions he made almost no impact at all, no convos on the ship, no interacting with other squad mates, etc.  Javik did.  He has conversations with even minor cameo characters, meaning his voice work was done along side everyone elses.  Not in post-production.

They don't even make the claim any more that he was all done after the game was finished, they abandoned that lie.  Now they claim he had seperate funding and wouldn't of existed as anything except dlc.  Lol, okay.

Honestly, I'd rather they just be straight forward about it.  Price the game as $70.  Thats what they want.  If they just admited it and were honest about it, I wouldn't really be upset.  I mean yeah nobody likes to pay more, but at least they would be being honest and charging what they want.  Taking out a slice and charging extra is just jumping through hoops to achieve that in a shadier manner.

I personally wish Bioware would stop due to the fact that it has really damaged goodwill towards Bioware.

If they are going to do it, they NEED to PROVE that this wasn't taken out of the original game and resold as DLC.

Clear up misunderstanding and it should be good...

Now if Bioware is going to do that ANYWAYS then honestly I would tell the company to screw itself.
