Gamble said in an interview that Omega was twice as long as their longest DLC previously. Sorry, but that is completely wrong, seeing as Leviathan took me 2 hours, and Omega was actually SHORTER at 1hr 45 min. I bought the DLC expecting maybe 3 hours (since devs tend to overstate) but for it to actually be shorter than previous DLC while claiming it was twice as long is just rediculous.

Pulling stuff like this on consumers is a prime example of why people pirate. If you can't trust the marketing, and you can't get a refund when it is shown that they blatantly lied to you to get you to spend the money, what else are you supposed to do to protect yourself from being taken advantage of?

Edit: Since there seems to be some misunderstanding, I played both Leviathan and Omega on Normal difficulty doing ALL conversation options possible, quests possible, and finding all weapon and mod upgrades possible. I was definetely NOT speed running. If anything I was speed running my Leviathan time, since I used second playthrough Levi time due to game breaking ladder bugs the first time round.

Yeah I know... I just... really wanted to believe... It hurts to see the company responsible for igniting my passion for game development dragging itself through the trash for no reason...

Well I could ramp up the difficulty, seeing as how I've imported into new game plus 8 times with basically everything maxed at 10, and all upgrades at 5, I just like being tremendously OP.  I get no enjoyment out of difficulty, don't really understand how others do.

I started playing at 1am. Just finished. That's about 3 hours. I also play fast.

I'm about 2.5 hours in and haven't finished yet (hardcore difficulty). Don't get me wrong, although I'm enjoying it I don't think it was worth 1200 points - but 1hr 45 mins seems very short!

This is exactly why I waited to buy it, I wanted a longer DLC and I wasn't paying 20 dollars when the game cost me 60 for 24 hours of content. **** off bioware

I'm sorry, but it's crap like this that makes BSN the laughing stock of Western entertainment.

You know i remember reading an article a few years ago that said the average PC sells for a vastly inflated price over what it actually costs to make. So what did they say fixes the price so high? What people will pay for it in the current market!

Welcome to capitalism, the price of everything from your groceries to the house you live in is dictated more by what people will pay for it than whether it cost that much to produce, or whether it is good value for money. That's the world we live in there's little point complaining about it or accusing Bioware of somehow mistreating us. They are a business not a charity. They are not being unfair they are just pricing their products like everyone else in the marketplace.

I took my time it seems with about 4 hours on Insanity. (which is still a breeze but expectedly would take a few minutes longer than Casual).

I'm unsure about the price being right or wrong. Overall I enjoyed playing through Omega save for the speeches without musical backing which irked me greatly. I loved the all-over atmosphere, enjoyed the characters and scenery, and felt challenged by the combat now and then; still not much, but there were a few points that required focus.

Was it worth 15$? I dunno, it's about the price of 3 beers in the time it takes to have a nice night out. A 4-hour night out with friends usually ends up costing me 100$ with about as much fun (though a wholly different kind of fun) on average. Difference is that I get to hang out with friends.

Relatively, I don't think 15$ is too much money for the enjoyment I had. Compared to previous DLC's from BioWare, especially LotSB, however, It's WAY overpriced I think.

I'll still pay it and enjoy it, of course - sucker that I am, but like the ending, it's all a bit bittersweet. Good thing I like grapefruits I guess.

It always depends on the gamer and style of play, for example I like to take my time and explore around places before finishing the dlc or game

If you happen to breeze through this DLC faster than Leviathan I think that says more about you and your playstyle than the length of the DLC themselves. Most people seem to be agreeing that it was longer than Leviathan from what I can see.

This kind of thing just happens sometimes. Tales of Symphonia 1 is touted by many to be a ~80 hour game and I beat it in 45. The sequel is said to be about ~30 and I beat it in ~40. Of course the second game is much shorter to most people, it's just that to my specific playstyle, the difference wasn't very big even though it very well should've been.

Yes.
It was a big, fat, nasty lie, used to justify the price tag.
I'd better appreciate to be honest with.
I'd rather have they say: it's more expensive, deal with it.
Than saying: Ooooh, it's loooong and have a ton of content, that's why it's expensive.

This way, it's just bull****. But it did accomplish something. I still have some points in store, but when they are gone, I will only buy new ones, if something exceptionally good comes - and I hear it from the players, not from the big, fat, deserve-to-be-fired liars.

It was said that Omega has 2-4 hours of gameplay, depending on the playstyle. If you play only to run through game as fast as you can, then it is your problem...

Pretty much. My room mate was even telling me to pirate it, but I was all like "Noooo, I can give them one more chance! They've learned! Really!" Boy was I wrong.

Sorry if I sound crass, but trusting marketing is like trusting a prostitute who says she loves you. You should always be wary of what a wise man once called 'the Advertising Lullaby' :)

The solution is simple: Don't buy into the dlc-scam. It needs to die, and the loss of profit margins is the only language, ea and buyerbeware will understand.
