You people are saying 3-4 hours like that's acceptable for $15.

In your opinion, if a DLC is $15 then what is the acceptable amount of hours of gameplay that is required to have a "good" DLC? 5 hours? 10 hours? 15 hours?

We really should disassociate the hours of gameplay from the price of a DLC.  Often time it is about the experience you have with a story; be it a $15 DLC or a $15 Full-Game.

I got roughly 4 hours out of it, I don't know what the people who are complaining about it are complaining about...if that makes any sort of sense.

This is true. However, if there is $15 worth of story and gameplay in it, I expect it to be longer than 3.5 hours. Usually Lair takes me a bit longer than that, and it was less. AND it had more story stuff in it to boot.

Out of curiousity:  Knowing what you know now of both DLC...

If Lair of the Shadow Broker was $15 back when it was released, and Omega was $10 on this release... would that be acceptable?

Actually, I don't think so. Fifteen to twenty dollars is around expansion range, price-wise. That's a quarter to a third the cost of a new AAA game. I don't think LotSB is long enough to warrant that. I think it would've been worth that if LIara became an squaddie, though.

Length is a function of the amount of stuff you put into a DLC, that's what I'm getting at, essentially.

How can you rush Omega? It's not like there were a lot of side mission to sit around and take your time on.

I think it was shorter than Leviathan.

I'm sorry, but yes, it must be a balance of quantity and quality. If the quality is exceptional, then we'll accept less quantity. If the quantity is lengthy, then we'll accept less quality.

But you don't give us less of both and charge 1/4th-1/3rd the cost of the original game.

The Omega DLC I just finished was not worth $15. I wish I could have gone back in time to unpurchase.

The OP is incorrect, Gamble didn't say it was twice as long he said it was twice as big, there is a difference. Considering how long the missions were, new enemy types, new squadmates, etc. his statement holds.

I think it took me about the same amount of time for both DLC at about 2.5 to 2.75 hours, Leviathan felt more immersive to me.

Overall length is not the problem, length relative to other DLCs is.

It always depends on the gamer and style of play, for example I like to take my time and explore around places before finishing the dlc or game

Barely anything worth of exploring. They really just cut off all kind of exploration in ME3. Kind of sad.

I was not really unpleased with Omega, but not happy with it either. It came down as pretty shallow. Petrovesky probably won't be seen ever again even fi the Alliance got him. No Cutscenes where Hacket is talking to you about the events. No dialogue form teammates. Not even mails, no nothing.

Its like "Whatever, Omega".

This is a RPG, action oriented or not. But this means jack **** to the plotline. Cerberus won't be weakened, the Reapers wont budge even if we bring the Galactic Empire, the Terran and all fleets of Star  Trek as assets. It won't change the game in anyway. Just some token points in asets. Leviathans help  and Arias fleet means nothing. Its decent if baked into one gameplay but its just sad to come to it after finishing the game. Makes it more depressive. And not able to explore Omega more? Or even after? Also not that fun.

Give us more exploration Bioware! Pretty please!

EDIT: And why not add in a twist and give us Zaeed? Hell could been a interesting fight to have had him with us and have him blow the damn place up like he spoke about in ME2. Nyreen was not with us all the time, could have had Zaeed join in when she was gone.

Like have an option, Zaeed or Aria! Hell even add Petrovsky offering to turn his army to your cause and create a splinter faction in the Cerberus! Would also fit the plot where the Alliance can take out Chronos station with rather ease. More options are interesting and I love that General! Felt like ME2 Cerberus where they catered for Humanity and not just some mad arse Reaper control indoctrination madness!

Just over 5 hours for me, on insanity. Longest ME dlc so far. Levi took me about 3 1/2 hours, Lair, Overlord, Firewalker and BDtS 3 hours-ish, Arrival and From Ashes a couple of hours, everything else about an hour. All either on Insanity or hardcore. Apart from Pinnacle Station which took a few hours but felt like an eternity :/

Still don't think it was quite worth the full 1200, but it was a lot of fun regardless. I love the way I got to 'paragonise' Aria, loved Nyreen (I personally don't think she's dead :P), thought the whole mine level was great fun, nice challenging last fight with all those adjutants.

Did Bioware ever say it was there longest DLC? I though they said it was their biggest. Witch doesn't mean longest.. Think of the content as well people

Exact oposite for me, i did leviathan in about 2 hours and omega in about 4. Both on insanity, but i was playing omega with a low lvl sheperd.

3 to 4 hours on Hardcore while doing everything for me.

So, yeah, I don't know.
