Can you guys imagine if Asari had been an all-male race from the beginning? Just think about it: wherever you go, just scantily clad dudes everywhere. You walk into Chora's Den, and are greeted by a bunch of babes that look like this:



Just imagine the whole trilogy, the whole mass effect universe, with the Asari just like they are. With their casually treated but repeatedly underlined comfort with sexuality. But with abs instead of boobs.

And a disproportionate amount of them flirting with either-gender Shepard.

Just think about it.

And is that a PS of Daniel Radcliffe - coz he's hot...

If Bioware creates a single player DLC storyline for this (since it's a lore shattering one) where we discover a single male Asari kept hidden (Exiled, imprisoned, whatever - it's not the first secret the asari have kept) and then they're in the war effort - sure.

The only problem I see with such a storyline is that we already have a "secret breed of asari" in the Ardat-yakshi. That might have been a good twist on Morinth and the Monastary...but nooo we got Asari vampires instead.

In the off chance you are serious, technically Asari are both and neither gender at the same time, so we already have male Asari.

They are made female in looks because the majority of gamers is males, where most are homofobic.
Plus lesbians in generally are more accepted in soceity compared to gays, and more women are attracted to their own gender than man are to theirs.

It's not that far-fetched, there's always that conversation in Mass Effect 2 where they talk about how the asari can be different things to other species. If an asari met someone who was attracted to manliness I don't see what would stop them from taking on a male form.

Honestly I think the asari are using mind tricks to appear beautiful and actually all look like people sized banshees.

Manliness =/= male. 
On top of that Manliness is different things for different spiecies. 
On top of that asari met countless people attracted to males or "manliness", which would be heterosexual females of different species.
