I don't want to pick a side... Both can be just as bad as each other. Can't we have a middle ground? I really hope we can in DA3.
This! Neither side ever really made me feel like I was making the right choice by supporting them.

I sympathize with images. The way they are forced to live and persecuted because of the threat of what a few can become or what a select few choose to do with their power is unfair.
Aye, imagery is poweful indeed

I side with mages and did not kill Anders.
Personally, I don't see why people do unless they just think it's fun or your a templar-supporter . He didn't deserve to die. That change needed to happen, mages were being oppressed and mistreated by the chantry for hundreds of years. Imprisoning them, most never see their families again. Tell me how that's fair. Just because they have magic is not justification. Templars are very powerful warriors with big swords with a lyrium craving. They could easily be serial killers, why not lock them up? Or the Grey Wardens? The can do almost anything they want with the skill to back it up. The circles are a broken system. Anders saw this and acted.

He blew up a goddamned church! There are fewer more stereotypically evil acts. It is pretty much blowing up a bus full of nuns.

The people he killed didn't deserve to die. He does because by his own rules, it is justice for those he killed. Also that change ie mages rebelling, was going to happen eventually regardless.

Rogues are always templar supporters.
And my warriors can go either way.
As a player though, I generaly tend to be more sympathetic to the mages.

In all seriousness, though, it depends on the character I play.
I tend to lean towards mages, but I have some Wardens/Hawkes that are 100% pro-templar.

But seriously though: I'd rather play a character who refuses to take sides in the conflict. Character that doesn't get involved in a fight that isn't his/hers FTW!
