This is what I think they should do ideally: two straight male options, two straight females, one bisexual of each gender, two lesbians, two gays. You might argue that it's a bit contrived, but no less so than everyone's bisexual or "herosexual".
I also believe that some LIs should be available outside of the party, the way Chambers, Traynor, and Cortez were in ME2 and ME3. Why not be able to romance the steward of a castle we own, or the captain of the castle's guard, the head cook, a maid, the master (or mistress) of the estate's hunting dogs, or even someone we meet elsewhere in the game like a member of the Orlesian nobility or a Chevalier (of either gender) who live in Val Royeaux, for example?
I know BioWare won't be going this route with DA III, but if I were writing for a CRPG in the style of games like Mass Effect or Dragon Age, this how I would do it.
