The title says it all. Here's the link.

An EA Shanghai level designer who worked on a vertical slice of Dragon Age III earlier in the year states on his LinkedIn page
that the "Scope of the DAIII has been chaged [sic], which will target
next gen platform [sic] and will be postpone [sic] to 2014." The claim
of the delay is probably a misinterpretation of the rumors
of the RPG sequel's delays from fiscal 2013 (before March 31, 2013) to
fiscal 2014 (after that date), which was pegged to EA wanting to avoid
the rushed development criticisms that dogged Dragon Age II. However, those "development cycle" posits are seemingly not entirely accurate, as the designer says that EA wanted to refocus Dragon Age III from a current-generation title to a marquee next-generation RPG. Dragon Age III coming to next-generation platforms should not be a surprise to anyone, as EA tellingly excluded any specifics on platforms in the game's September announcement—a way of saying that the intended platforms have not yet been announced.

What do you think?

Could be right. too early to tell. I wouldn`t be surprised if this is the case, though.

As long as the save game import feature still works it doesn't matter to me whether it is current or next-gen. I'm happy to go with whichever platform is deemed the best.

(Unless it's a kinect exclusive, obviously...)

It hasn't been officially confirmed for PC yet. It almost certainly will come out for PC, of course, but you might get a long delay even so.

True.  But I, as a PC gamer, figured I'd express my opinion of DA3 being a next-gen release.

I'm a PS3 owner and I think I'll go with a gaming PC this time, having to jump on the next generation of consoles is starting to become quite tedious after 15 years as a gamer.

(I'll have to wait until David Cage announce his next project before making that decision, though. There's no way I'm losing a Quantic Dream game.)

Yes I was just being unnecessarily pedantic for some reason.

If it's true? Good. Gives them more time to make sure the game is finished more to their liking than otherwise.

I'm cool with this as long as they give me an easy way to import my decision - I vote for releasing a free DLC for DA2 that just gives you a list of all the decisions made, so you can fill them out for DA3.

Importing from current generation to next gen consoles will be difficult. But currently I'm thinking they'll go the Cloud storage route.

If they release it on next-gen consoles, they better deal with save game imports differently. Give us an awesome feature where we can decide what choices to import into DA 3...something like an interactive book. Otherwise the save game import is gonna be difficult. Especially for people who may plan on switching from Xbox to PS 4 or the other way round. (Like me.)
If this is the case, they're welcome to do it. (My wallet will cry bitter tears, but whatever. As long as it's a really awesome game.)

As long as I'll be able import, I'm fine with it. Cloud storage can be used to get the necessary save over, or a flash drive like I used for Mass Effect 3 when the original 12GB hard drive that came with my Xbox 360 became full.

I would love this. Seeing DA3 on next gen w/FB2...giggity!

I wish I knew more about the next gen. I've seen some bits and pieces of info, but nothing solid really.

Has there been some info? A date? A price parameter? This kinda thing can't be an impulse buy for me. I would need to plan ahead.

I wish they would come on w/the next gen already.

But ideally I'd like to have a roaring fireplace; big screen tv; next gen console; nice glass of brandy and a big, fat....DA3 game.

Yeah, Baby!

If this is true, good. As far as I'm concerned, Bio can delay the hell out of DA3, take all the time they need to make the game a beautiful, beautiful thing. I probably won't be able to afford a next-gen console when they first come out, but I guess I could try and stump up for a new graphics card ...

I know it's still too early to say anything with a certainty, but I sincerely hope this isn't the case.
I'm just not ready to shell out the hundreds of dollars a new console will inevitably cost; that, and then there is the issue of save-game imports, as others have already pointed out.

Next gen console costs are going to be a ****. If they come out in 2014 I really doubt I'll move off of the 360 to the next gen for a year... year and a half. Especially since the price tag will likely be 500-900 dollars. I just can't afford that kind of an investment. I've really enjoyed the lengthiness of this console generation because I well and truly got a huge bang for my buck.

Which... yeah. Means I'm going to have to miss out on DA3 for a good long time. ...or pick it up on PC. Which I don't know. My machine's a relic and barely works. (I use a notebook for internet purposes which, for obvious reasons, is not for gaming).

Either way I doubt I'll be grabbing DA3 on release.

...unless it releases on both next gen and current gen machines. I don't know if that's a good idea or not from a market perspective. It works out well for me, personally though.

I don't plan to move on to next gen for a while, so I'd be disappointed if this is true.

This better not be true... I love the Dragon Age games, but not enough to buy another new console. That's too expensive, especially since I'm not gaming as much as I used to. Not a good investment for me.

Um...They will likely release it the same time for all platforms. There is a such thing as DIGITAL DOWNLOADS you know. <_<

Am I the only one skeptical about this as the Devs themselves have said on these forums that they're aiming for a late 2013 release date?

Well, according to this latest rumor, next gen my be announced right b4 E3 2013. Sooo...I could see it happening if BW doesn't release DA3 until late 2013. Ah, but still speculations nonetheless.

I'm playing on the PC so it doesn;t really apply to me what does annoy me however is the delay in which I will get the game when it was initially forecasted for late nxt year.
